Today, I introduced my girlfriend to my parents. My mother turned to me and said, "Wait you're actually gay? I thought you were just saying that to piss off your father." I came out to her when I was 16, and have confided in her about my past relationships. FML

Today, I told my parents I'm pregnant. I got a long lecture from my mom about using protection. It would have been fine hearing all that, but I'm turning 22, I moved out a few years ago, have a full time job with great benefits, and am getting married next summer. FML

Today, I'm in 12th grade and came home from school to find out my mother had someone over to have sex while I was at school. She's not had sex my whole life, so the uncomfortable feeling it gave me is different than anything I've felt before. She's been single by the way. FML

lost my virginity at 14. I'm still with the guy I lost it to and haven't slept with anyone else :). neither has he. I have absolutely no regrets and I told my mother. I'm not close with my father and thus, haven't told him. had a pregnancy scare only once, and it was just cuz I don't keep track of my period. I have never had sex without a condem, however the pill has never agreed with my body. op is not too young, and I was mature enough at 14. my body was done growing then too. j haven't grown an inch since I was 13. I'm 4'11".

It's extremely disgusting the amount of judgmental comments there are. When a person should become sexually active is their own personal decision, not based on the morals of anyone else. @OP: your level of sexual activity is a private matter that is absolutely none of your parents' business. The only discussion you need to have with them is about risks and risk prevention. Part of being an adult is dealing with the consequences of your actions. However, that doesn't mean you have to give in to your parents' retarded demands that violate your privacy. If they can't give you a reasonable explanation on why you should do the specific task, then it's unreasonable. Pretty simple. Stand your ground. Explain it is none of their business. Ask if they can give you any reason why it would be (there are none). Listen to what they have to say. Look at the situation from their perspective and be understanding about the way they feel. Be calm and don't act like a child and throw a hissyfit. The only way your parents will treat you like an adult, is if you act like one. Though trust me they never fully will. You'll always be their little girl, just with more privileges.
