Today, my mom told me she'd canceled my spring break trip to Europe for my 16th birthday. Why? So I could get my wisdom teeth pulled 2 months early. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, my mom told me that I would get to leave school halfway through the day. What she didn't tell me was that the reason I was missing school was to get 2 teeth pulled. FML
Birthday Boy
Today, it's my 16th birthday. It's also it is the day my parents scheduled my wisdom teeth to be pulled out. Happy birthday to me, then. FML
More faces than Khloé Kardashian
Today, my mom told me she'd scheduled me for a cleaning with my hometown dentist. When I reminded her that, according to my university's COVID guidelines, students shouldn't leave the county unless there's an emergency, she threw a hissy fit and told me I'm being "combative" and "looking for an excuse to fight." FML
Grow up
Today, my 21 year-old daughter called crying because she was in pain due to a wisdom tooth. She was angry because she thinks I should have called the dentist for her. She can't get an appointment immediately, so now refuses to celebrate her birthday four weeks away. I told her that she's an adult now. Still my fault. FML
Today, I had 3 teeth pulled. Due to the anaesthesia, my mom came along to drive me home. Halfway through my surgery, she decided to leave and go shopping with her friend. She even left a note with the receptionist, saying that I needed to take on my own adult responsibilities. FML
Today, my mother "borrowed" money from my stash to help pay for her vacation to the Dominican Republic. The same trip I'm not allowed to go on. FML
Free healthcare when?
Today, my dentist called and told me that the surgery to remove my wisdom teeth - which I desperately need and saved for a year to be able to afford - will actually cost nearly $2000 more than originally stated. The surgery is supposed to be in three days. FML
Extreme late fees
Today, I had an appointment to pull some wisdom teeth. I wrote the wrong time in my calendar. Showed up an hour late and they didn't pull the one tooth that actually hurts. Now I've got the pay for the time I was late, plus wait until November to pull the rest. I waited 5 months for this appointment due to the coronavirus. FML
Today, I found out that instead of having four wisdom teeth, I have eight. They all have to be removed as soon as possible, which happens to be over the Christmas break. I get to spend my whole vacation in excruciating pain and a swollen face to boot. FML
You'll understand when you're older
Today, my mom told me the night before our school trip that I’m not going so she could get a refund. Now I have to stay alone with my mom for a week, while my friends are having the time of their life in NYC. FML

Wtf? Sorry but that's not the reason why she cancelled it. She's hiding something because quite clearly that's not the real reason. I hope you can get things sorted out. GL OP

Sounds like money problems...

But wisdom teeth pulling costs money too; not all of it is covered by insurance. I think there's another reason here too

I bet she can't afford a European spring break trip AND a wisdom tooth removal surgery within two months of each other so opted to move the surgery up in order to save herself the embarrassment of having to explain it.

Seems pretty likely that this is a money issue. Both are expensive, and only one is really necessary.

Sounds like she did it on purpose to me

I'm not sure about yours, but wisdom teeth are potentially incredibly painful and removing them isn't a crappy option. I hate it for you OP, that really does suck.

Dentist aren't cheap, and maybe you'll get something better in the long run.

true. her mom could be planning something bigger for her birthday. or something good will come for her since she couldn't go on her trip. sucks her mom cancelled it though so she could get her teeth pulled. hopefully op will get something better.

...Bigger than a trip to Europe, #49?
CoralineCrossXXX 13
You never know. I'm hoping op does get something better because if not then her mom is terrible for cancelling her plans like that and op will be in pain

Trading a trip to Europe for the dentist? Yeah, I don't think that was wise.

It wasn't a choice, hence why it's on FML.

It was a pun on "wisdom teeth"
Retaheki 27

She has a different motive. Talk to her about it.

Two weeks of fun for two weeks of pain. Sorry OP, hope you get it sorted and happy sixteenth birthday!

She doesn't want to reinact the movie taken because the mom dies * spoiler *
Mauskau 36
She dies in the trailer, it's fine.

Usually you put *Spoiler for Taken* first.

Don't be so spoiled. You'll probably still get great gifts.

So you WOULDN'T rather have your teeth pulled than go to Europe? Gee. Go figure.
