Today, my husband and I agreed that he would name our first born and I would name our second. He's dead-set on naming our child "Raindropp" no matter whether it's a boy or girl. FML

Best Baby Names of 2021
Today, my boyfriend has had name ideas for his future son and daughter even before I met him, but so have I. He disregards my ideas and suggestions, and is hell bent on giving our kids names because he likes "the way they sound." 'Hippopotamus' sounds good, but who’d name their kids that? FML
Today, my French wife chose the name of our unborn baby girl. She wants to call her Fanny and won't change her mind. FML
Today, my girlfriend of three days asked if we could start naming our future children. FML
Today, my husband and I were talking about names for our expectant child. I told him since I named our daughter he could name our son. He's decided on a name from 'God of War'. My son is going to be named after a make-believe cartoon character - Kratos. FML
Kid A
Today, me and my husband are having our first big marital argument. Our baby still doesn’t have a name, all because I want to call her a normal name and he wants to call her some obscure name from an anime he really likes. I’ve never seen him this stubborn about anything this stupid. FML
Copycat
Today, my father-in-law announced the name of his new son, my husband's half-brother. The first name and last name is the same as our son, who I gave birth to 4 months ago. FML
Today, I had to yet again tell my mother-in-law that I wasn't going to name my unborn baby "Ermintrude" after her late mother. My husband told me to stop being difficult, and that he agrees that it would be nice. FML
Joyful news!
Today, I learned that I'm expecting twins. A boy and a girl. My husband, upon finding out about this, immediately suggested that we give them Star Wars names. But not Luke and Leia. Oh no. He wants to name them Darth and Vayda. And he is absolutely serious about this. FML
Today, I found out my wife named our son after her ex-lover. FML
Build your own
Today, after my wife gave birth to another of our daughters, she announced that this was the last one. When I reminded her I still needed a son to carry on my name, she replied, "Well, you've got four girls. You want a boy? Birth him yourself!" FML

Why not compromise on Rain? Rain is a very nice name, imo. "Raindropp", not so much.

Good news! After the baby is born, unless the mother is incapacitated, they ask HER what the baby's name is...NOT the father!

My goodness. It's something you'd name a pony.

That fact that the name isn't even remotely acceptable should make your agreement null and void!!!!

You shouldn't have made that deal until you heard some of the baby names he had in mind. Now you have to name your second child some whacked up name such as "raindropp" so one kid doesn't feel more special or different than the other. I mean come on, no one likes favorites! :D BTW NO OFFENSE INTENDED!

My name is Raine. Please, spare your child from having that name. Whatever it takes.

Why? That name is pretty :3

Try giving it out over the phone. Try going to the first day of school and listening to your teachers(and later, professors) mispronounce it. Every substitute teacher, every person who calls you "Rainey" or "Ryan". When you're spelling it for someone, have to repeat it several times. Being named "Rain" is something acceptable. "Raindropp" or "Raine" isn't, because people are going to go ahead and comment, "Were your parent's stupid or just hippies? It's spelled "Rain"..."

The kid will always be made fun of, even if the people involved don't realize it. Someone's going to sing "Rain, Rain, go away" or insist on calling you "Cloud" or "Stormy." That's actually what my boss does. Calls me Stormy. Weirdly, grown adults make fun of my name more than kids did in my childhood. I'm so tired of this that I don't tell him to stop(plus, I need to make a good impression). I also don't tell people that they're saying my name wrong. It's always been a pain in the ass, but it's my name and I'm not the type to change it. But you should spare children from weird spellings and iffy pronunciations.
