Today, my dog ran away. Luckily my neighbors caught him before he got too far. Now they won't give him back because they think I did something to him to make him want to run away. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, after finally giving up on the search for my lost dog, I realized that my neighbors had found her and are convinced that she was a stray. They won't give her up and are now mad at me for trying to take my own dog back. FML
Today, my dog ran away. It was dark, so I couldn't see very well, but I ran after him anyway. Thinking I had caught up to him, I grabbed him. It wasn't my dog. It was a skunk. FML
Today, I bought a dog to make me feel less lonely. He ran away. FML

Today, my boyfriend finally let me take his dog on a walk, after two years of not trusting me to keep her safe. During the walk, a car drove by, causing her to run after it and pulling the leash out of my hand. Five hours later, and I still can't find her. FML
Naughty boy
Today, I took my dog to the park. While chatting with another dog owner, my dog managed to steal their sandwich and ran off with it. I had to chase my sandwich-thieving dog through the entire park. FML
Naughty boy
Today, I was walking my dog when I tripped on the leash, dropping his treat bag. He snatched one, looked at me, and ran full speed in the opposite direction. I had to chase him for three blocks, yelling his name. He thought it was a new game. FML

If you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it's yours. If it doesn't, then your neighbors probably stole it and you should call the cops.

Call the police. They can't keep your dog against your will.

Call the cops. Make sure you have proof the dog is yours.

I think that might be illegal

It is. They are holding the dog against the owner's will.

If you were OP's neighbor, the cops would roll their eyes twice at you because they can't understand a word you are saying.

Packard, if you can't understand that, then the cops would probably roll their eyes three times at you. But seriously though, it's not that hard to read.

English must be your second language, there are some great free sites if you need more time learning it.

The writing here is still very legible though, I can totally understand it, just a few homophones spelled wrong and missing commas.

I would wonder why the dog ran away. The neighbors have a point, it's not like they know any better. Still, take the dog back, and maybe take it outside more often? On a leash, obviously.

My dog ran away. Want to know why? Because the wind blew the gate open.

My dog ran away all the time. He had seizures and lost his memory for hours on end and I had 3 vets tell me nothing was wrong with him by their tests. He eventually died from those seizures but there was nothing I could do to stop them. He jumped the fence. Most dogs run away for less reason than that when they run away. Nothing to really be suspicious about

My dog has ran away before, but you gotta understand dogs are curious and like exploring. The neighbor has no point whatsoever.

The neighbors definitely don't have a point. If they think the dog is abused, they can call the cops. But the dog belongs to OP.

Have they ever met a dog before? It probably ran out because it saw another dog, or a squirrel, or a ball...

Or they just realize they're outside. There's countless reasons they might run off..
