Today, my dad took my phone away. This would be fine if I was 14. I'm 22 and pay for all of my own bills. FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Controlling
Today, my mom took my phone away because of a huge mistake I made, which we need to go to court for. I own the actual phone but they pay for the line. I'm autistic with severe anxiety. I'm also 34 years-old. FML
Bigmouth Strikes Again
Today, I was involved in an intense argument with my dad. Just as I yelled, "You haven't done one thing for me", my phone rang. The same phone that, as of today, my dad no longer pays the bill for. FML
Memory man
Today, my dad let me use his phone. Five minutes later, he had my mom call it because he thought he'd lost it. FML
Today, my parents gave me an iPhone. They then checked my grades online, and promptly took it away. FML
Do as you're told
Today, my parents forced me to do chores. I worked extra slow to rebel against their tyranny. My dad then said I'm not allowed to get my learner's permit for another six months and took away my phone. FML
Today, my dad learned how to use the parental controls. I now have an 11 o'clock curfew. I am 17. FML
Today, I had to sell my phone to pay for the phone bill. FML
Today, my mobile phone wouldn't turn on. I took it in to the phone store, but they won't fix or replace it because the account is in my dad's name, not mine. He's abroad for the next month, and the only way to get a hold of him is on a number I only stored on my phone. FML
Offroading
Today, my dad took my phone away because I "had to be texting while driving in order to wreck my car." I was too ashamed to tell him that a huge bug flew into my face causing me to veer off the road and into a brick mailbox. FML
Blame game
Today, my dad tried to blame me for ringing an out of network number for two hours, which charged his bill by the minute. I rang the number, which turned out to belong to one of his business pals who lives abroad. He punished me anyway for having an attitude when I proved the call was his fault. FML

If you're already paying all your bills nights as well start living on your own.

28 technically the minimum age is 17 so that immature people like you wouldn't be on this site.

Agree! 22 and not standing up for yourself is just pitiful. And sorry foodlord. I guess you were expecting fml's like "Today, the girl I had a crush on says she doesn't like guys whose voice hasn't cracked yet. FML"

you live in his house? if you do you have to follow his rules. if you don't like it then you could move out. if you live in your own place then that's different.

Apparently not otherwise you'd be living in your own house

My thoughts exactly. When you're finally on your own, you can call boys at all hours of the night.

Who says she isn't? Her dad could just be a different degree of psycho
eeppiicc 8
Op did say she pays for all her own bills that could mean just the phone bill our house payments and so on. This is one of those fmls that need more information.

Take his phone and hide it in your cleavage. He'll never be able to get it back.

If your already paying for yourself, why not move out?

I agree. What kind of lame ass lives with their parents at 22?
ideasrule 13
So get it back? You're a legal adult, and since the phone is your property, any attempt by him to take it away is theft.

Right, then have your parents kick you out and find out what it really means to "pay your own bills"......paying for your personal luxuries while they pay for your basics doesn't mean you can do whatever you want. If you want that, move out.
