Bigmouth Strikes Again
Today, I was involved in an intense argument with my dad. Just as I yelled, "You haven't done one thing for me", my phone rang. The same phone that, as of today, my dad no longer pays the bill for. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I got a missed call from my dad, who hasn't talked to me in months and has vowed not to have anything to do with me. I called him back excitedly and apologized for missing his call, and we had a 20-second conversation about how his phone accidentally dialed my number. FML
Today, my dad answered his Skype call by insisting he wasn’t giving me any more money. Thing is, I had been about to ask for money, again. I tried to open a shop in the middle of a pandemic, and I’m 4 months late on rent and utilities. I ended the call so he wouldn’t see his grown son crying. FML
Today, my dad took my phone away. This would be fine if I was 14. I'm 22 and pay for all of my own bills. FML
Today, my dad tried to blame me for ringing an out of network number for two hours, which charged his bill by the minute. I rang the number, which turned out to belong to one of his business pals who lives abroad. He punished me anyway for having an attitude when I proved the call was his fault. FML
Today, my mom grabbed my phone, said she was taking it because I'd been disrespectful, and hung up my call. I'd been speaking with a work client. This is the gratitude I get for paying all her bills for the past 2 years, all because she's too lazy to get a job. FML
Today, I had a really shitty fight with my dad. We were standing in front of each other, screaming and yelling. Everything gets so complicated and annoying when it comes to him, and I vividly have some deep daddy issues which affect my everyday life. FML
Today, my long-distance relationship ended. The only thing my dad had to say to comfort me was that he hopes my phone bills will, "go back to normal now." FML
Today, my dad yelled at me for being irresponsible while he watched me fold his laundry. FML
Today, my estranged father, with whom I haven't spoken in years, called me and demanded to know where his Father's Day gift was. FML
Today, I woke up to a video call from my entitled father, who was fuming and yelling at me for buying a PS5. With MY money. I don't even live with him anymore. FML

Guess he won that one.

You certainly proved that talk is cheap. Although, maybe not that cheap if your phone is going unpaid.

Chalk it up as one lesson you have learned from him. How to become independent.

Take the L and be a more appreciative and thoughtful son/daughter. What do you expect people to say? 😂

Call him and tell him your sorry! Oh wait you can’t. You tried to be a smart ass with your dad and now he’s not paying the bill for you. If your 18 and no longer in high school you need to grow up and pay your own bill.

Some people have a mouth so big they can fit an entire foot in it.

Be glad that was the only thing he cut off as I am certain he does a lot more than just that for you.

As a dad myself, this is pretty standard. Some kids think their parents somehow owe them something, yet they don’t appreciate - or even recognise - what their parents do give them. And the richer the family, the worse is the expectation and privilege. Sad but human nature I guess. It still sucks to see your kid turn out to be a selfish arsehole. But it’s never too late to teach life’s lessons - This dad did it right I think - and I’d do the same TBH. To the OP - be glad your dad still loves you despite you being a complete twat.

as a human birthed by two other humans who decided to bring me into this shit world with out my permission i certainly cant agree that they owe me nothing but then again im smart enough to not yell at the one who pays for my living

You still have a choice... everyone does. You can...idk stop living with said parents. You could become homeless... You could get yourself thrown in jail to live there. You're lucky they brought you into the world AND decided to keep you and feed you and care for you. They could have thrown you in the garbage or left you on a doorstep. They could have killed you, they could have put you into the foster system. They chose to take care of you, pay for everything you own and put up with your crap... just saying... you still have a choice if you don't like it at your place.

Is this THE most deserved FML ever? Bad move...
