Today, my dad took my phone away. This would be fine if I was 14. I'm 22 and pay for all of my own bills. FML

Then why are you allowing your dad to do this?

My mom tried to pull that one on me, so I left.

I have to agree with you getting the police involved. He obvioulsy has a respect issue and that would (or atleast should ) snub it out if you have a police officer come over, you make a report and state who took your phone and let your father know that the next time he pulls some immature crap you WILL press charges. It may seem extreem, but in the same respect so is taking a grown adults phone Who is obviouslt mature enough to work and pay her bills. He has no place taking anything you own and pay for, for any reason

Tell him that he gives it back or the cops get a phone call about it. You're a grownup now, and when he takes your property, it's called theft.

YDI for handing it over.

you kind of deserve that for letting him take it.

If you can't stand up to your own parents at 22, you stand little chance of standing up to strangers! Also, this site was more than likely made by someone over 25, the same as all sites like this. Dont forget kids, we remember life before the internet.

How can your dad control the phone in your own house or apartment? Your place, your rules. If you live with him in his place, you aren't paying all your own bills.

unless you're in college, move out asap. nobody needs to be treated like a 12 year old at your age unless they are clearly asking for it.

How come you let him do it? YDI

And you still live with your parents....?
