Today, my dad finally told me why he never paid child support to my mom when he was supposed to for the last ten years. His reason? Because I'm a girl and I wasn't that important. FML

Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, my mom cleaned out my bank account, saying my "no-good dad" owes her child support and that she'll get it one way or another. FML
Today, I found out that my dad makes me wear dresses and skirts not because I look pretty in them, but because he was sick and tired of people asking him if I was a boy or a girl. FML
Today, I found out why my dad always treated me badly as a kid compared to my siblings. It's because I was conceived while my mom was cheating on him. On top of that, he made it clear that he still doesn't consider me a "real" part of the family. FML
Today, I asked my mother why she had me in the first place, as we never get along. She replied because my father wanted me. So, I called my father to ask him the same question, he said he only wanted to have me to keep my mother around, and that didn't work, so I was a waste. FML
Today, my boyfriend told me that my mom paid him to date me. FML
Today, at age thirty, my dad gave me the first compliment he's ever given me: "Remember to wash the pan out. Oh, and good job doing your chores and your mother's today." And everyone wonders why it took until last year for me to figure out I'm the same gender as this shitbag. FML
Today, I found out why my dad doesn't want my girlfriend coming to our house anymore. Apparently, her dad used to bully him a lot during high school and he's never gotten over it. He's threatened to disown me if she comes back over here. FML
Today, my father told me that it wasn't that I was written out of his will, it's that he never thought to include me in the first place. FML
Today, my mom and dad went to court to negotiate child support for me and my brothers. During the meeting, my dad was asked, "Sir, are you saying that the only reason you want your sons to live with you full time is so you don't have to pay child support?" To which he responded, "Yes." FML
Today, I finally had it out with my abusive father. I spent almost an hour detailing about how he constantly humiliates me in public, treats me like slime, and hits me at random when he's in a bad mood. His response was, "Quit being such a wimp" because I'm "not female." Mom took his side. I'm 16 and can't move out. FML

Tell your dad the following: "So are you saying you prefer males to females?!?!?! Wait a second... oh, now it makes sense! No wonder you left mom; you don't like women! Well I wish you and your life partner the best of luck. Remember, you have to go to Massachusetts to get married!" If your dad is a homophobe, which I bet he is, then this should work. BTW sorry if I forgot that gays can get married in Connecticut (if they can). I don't follow East Coast news.

Well, that's a fairly dickish thing to say, unless he was joking, but somehow, I doubt he was. I do quite like mrahhhhh's (#36) idea of what you should've said to him. I think, technically, if he hasn't paid child support you can probably take him to court for that to make sure he pays up. Unless by 'supposed to' you mean that he always paid it late...in which case ignore the first sentence.

YDI - That's something that's common knowledge, you get told that in elementary school and you can read it on the backs of packets, so I'd assume you aren't very serious about your vegetarianism. Also on the 'save the animals' topic, they wouldn't be bred that much if they weren't being eaten and therefore wouldn't exist, plus (in N.I. at least) we usually use local meat which means that it's improving our internal economy, and in this economical climate it's beneficial as most of these veggie products come from all over the place. Oh and on the argument that veggies are healthier, I doubt that severely as natural fats and proteins will always be better for you than pills or supplements, both in nutritional value and in being absorbed. A balanced diet and exercise - that's healthy. Rant over! :D
