Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.

Today, my boyfriend asked me out to dinner, which we never do. While at the restaurant he gets down on his knees, looks me in the eyes, and pulls out a little box. He opens it and inside is a note that says 'We're Done.' He then leaves me at the restaurant with the bill and the $2.00 box. FML

Today, my boyfriend took me on a surprise date to an expensive restaurant. After the meal, he got down on his knee and proposed. We've only been dating for two weeks, so I said no. He just silently kept staring me in the eyes, no matter what I said or did. I ended up having to walk home. FML

Elle Woods, is it you? But seriously, watch "Legally Blonde". The exact same situation, which eventually ended very well for Elle :-) Hope yours will turn out to be just as good. He's not your guy, f*ck him. Good luck!

Why do some men pick public venues to dump their partners? My wife and I were in a restaurant and this couple across from us were having some very obvious relationship issues. She excuses herself to go to the loo and this dummy chooses now to phone his bit on the side. He’s still on the phone when she gets back and starts screaming “IS THAT HER?”. She picks up her wine glass and smashes it into the side of his face and storms out. I was almost too shocked to finish my steak and it preyed on my mind all during my delicious dessert. We had to go to court a couple of months later, where he wrote a letter to the judge asking for leniency on her behalf. The judge asked my wife if we got our meal on the house. We did. Free food with entertainment thrown on. A win win.

Or... Or maybe the restaurant knew what was going on and decided he could do better than you?

Richard, way to kick that dog when it's down! (Really?!) For me, nothing ruins the appeal of returning to a favorite restaurant than the painful memory of a breakup that occurred there. JS.

Surely, you can find other locations of Chuck E. Cheese's and not return to the heartbreaking one.
