Today, my crush kissed me for the first time. However, my hair was falling into my face and getting in the way. No problem, I wear a wig so without thinking, I simply removed it. I don't think he'll kiss me again anytime soon. FML

Today, I spotted a guy I like slyly checking me out, so I did what I thought would be a dramatic but nonchalant hair flip. Instead, my hair got caught in the strap of my bag, and I ended up yanking myself backwards like a clumsy stuntman. FML
Today, I was in class finishing up an assignment when the guy next to me, my crush, said "I really love your hair." I started to blush then I turned towards him and said thanks, at the same time as the girl he was actually talking to. FML
Today, my boyfriend was playing with my hair, when his hand got caught. He ended up ripping out a handful of hair trying to get it free. FML
Today, my crush took me to a park and told me he loved me. We sat on an old bench and were just about to kiss when I screamed. I now have a huge splinter in my arse and he can't stop laughing. FML
Today, I kissed my crush for the first time and immediately started sneezing uncontrollably. It turns out that I’m allergic to his perfume. He laughed while I tried to blow my nose without looking insane. FML
Today, while trying to look cute and playing with my hair in front of a boy, I pulled a piece of my hair extension out. FML

If it was for a medical reason, I see no issue. He could be considered a jerk for not wanting to be with someone that has medical issues, but I would also see and understand if he didn't want to be with you because of that. If it isn't for a medical issue...you need to be yourself and stop trying to be something you aren't. It's a turn off for guys.

... Why? Why is it okay to dye your real hair, but not to change things up sometimes and wear a wig? Real hair is not that easily changeable. Or to be more extreme, why is it socially acceptable to put silicone in your chest to alter your appearance, which could and do kill people, but not use such a harmless thing as a wig? Just because you do something to change how you look, doesn't mean you are not yourself. Or that you feel bad about your original appearance. Actually, I feel bad for anyone who's personality is so fleeting and fickle that wearing a wig would change who they are. Also, I do believe it is he who should stop being whiney about what she does with her body, and not she who should conform to other people's standards of beauty. You are also not the only guy in the world, stop stop believing that it would be a turn off for everyone just because it is for you.

I guess I should stop dying and cutting my hair, stop wearing any make up, stop wearing the clothes that I like, get my tattoos removed, take out my piercings because it is a turn off to you right? She can do anything she wants with her body, but she also has to accept that other people might not like it. Thats what happens. You can be your own person, run your own race and do your own thing. But the more you do it the more you risk being separated from the 'norm'. Everyone is completely and totally allowed to look like anything they want, but other people are allowed to have their preferences too.

Of course they can have their preferences, but only an arse would express them in the manner of "you need to be yourself and stop trying to be something you aren't". Because he is not saying "I personally do not find this very attractive", he's saying "this is wrong and you shouldn't do it because I say so". Also, it is always exceptionally arse-like to use "it's a turn off for guys" as an argument for why you should or shouldn't do anything.

All of these replies, honestly, made me so happy to read. I love seeing that when a person changes their physical appearance, they also have people to defend their actions (aside from themselves) and can see that they ARE accepted and know that they shouldn't feel so uncomfortable as to hide how they truly like to look.

No offense but i think i would be pretty freaked out, especially initially, if i was kissing a girl and she just casually pulled her hair off without warning me. If he didn't know you wore a wig, then he would be shocked and maybe a little freaked out. I'm not saying its your fault, but maybe you should have warned him first..
