Today, my boyfriend's mum begged me to stay with my boyfriend because she says I'm the only one who can actually get him through college and into a decent job. FML

Today, my boyfriend told me that my mom paid him to date me. FML
Today, my boyfriend just told me that his mom told him to break up with me, and that she would pay him to do it. His mom is a bitch. FML
Today, my boyfriend's mum said she won't stop us from seeing each other, yet she'll only allow me to see him for 30 minutes a day, for 2 days a week, and gets mad if he sees me for any longer, because "mother knows best." FML
Today, my boyfriend's mother who lives with us decided that since I work from home, it would be a good idea for her to stay home and keep me company. "Keeping me company" includes ordering me to make her food, gossiping non stop, and ridiculing me for not being the woman that she always saw her son marrying. FML
Today, I met my boyfriend's parents. We've been dating for almost 5 months and are extremely in love. His mom basically said to me, "I want what’s best for my son and you aren’t it." FML
Today, my boyfriend asked my father for permission to marry me. My father refused, on the basis that I'm the only person in the house with a job, and if I leave he will have to start looking for work. My boyfriend won't marry me without his permission, and my lazy father won't change his mind. FML
Today, I asked my boyfriend why he was dating me. He replied, "Well, there's not a lot of options at this college." FML
Today, I found out that, for over three years, my boyfriend has solely been dating me to get closer to my mom. Apparently, "she's a total MILF." FML
Today, I met my boyfriend's parents. Later on, his mom pulls me aside and tells me to back off, saying he will never marry someone like me and he should be with a nice girl like his ex. They broke up after he found her in his bed with his roomate. FML
Today, my boyfriend send me a text to inform me that his mother had told him that I was only with him for his money, which he got from his dad's will… even though we were already together at the time. FML

Common knowledge: The only one who can change a person is themselves. He'll choose what to do, regardless if you stay with him or not. Do what's best for you and I hope the best for him too.

Everyone else has already nailed how this is not your problem. Just wanted to add- Even if you for some bizarre reason wanted to take on all the responsibility for someone else's life, you really can't do it for them. You'd be set up for failure. The only way to win is not to play.

Everyone's gonna immediately jump to "leave him!" But you should do what you want to do, obviously if you're the reason he'd wanna be successful then that must mean SOMETHING. If you want to leave him, then do it, but consider all your options.

My son's wife's parent did everything they could to convince my son to marry her. They thought his drive would motivate her and stop her destructive behavior. Listen to what your gut tells you.
