Today, my boyfriend randomly decided to let me know that he believes there's really no such thing as cheating, unless both partners explicitly agree that the relationship is monogamous. And no, he wouldn't agree that ours is. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Very suspicious activity
Today, my boyfriend says he is not cheating, because he has "not met them." He just follows half-naked women, likes only the most revealing pictures, and messages them in private. But yes, he is "not cheating." FML
Today, my now ex-boyfriend actually tried to justify his cheating by saying it doesn't count as cheating if the girl's bisexual. FML
Today, my girlfriend randomly confessed to basically having a "phobia" of monogamy. But don't worry, she defensively assured me she's never ever cheated on me, even though I never said she had, so I guess that's okay then. FML
Today, my boyfriend of two years told his friend that he decided a long time ago that he would never be faithful to a woman. I was sitting next to him. FML
What?
Today, I confronted my boyfriend, suspecting that he has been cheating on me during the past few months. He vehemently denied it. Then told me it would never happen again. What? FML
Today, I discovered that my fiancé and I had vastly different definitions of monogamy. Don't worry, he only did it when he was mad at me to remind him how much he loved me. I found out from my best friend. FML
Today, my boyfriend admitted that he thinks I'm cheating on him, with my brother. FML
Today, my boyfriend broke up with me, because he didn't trust himself not to cheat on me. What? FML
Today, I asked my boyfriend why he didn't believe in marriage. His response was, "I believe in marriage. Just not marriage with you." FML
Karma
Today, after three months of going back and forth between staying with my boyfriend and leaving him for someone else, I finally made the decision to go for the other guy. When I told him, he admitted to never seeing himself with me, as he "doesn't do cheaters." FML

at least he's being honest that he doesn't want to be in a monogamous relationship. if your not ok with being in an open relationship then time to move on.

You should have said, "Oh thank God! I was really starting to feel guilty about banging this really hot guy last weekend."

Part of going into a relationship is because you want to be exclusive. If you want to have sex with multiple partners you don't go into a relationship or you tell the other person up front that you want an open relationship. While I personally don't think an open relationship is a real relationship, there are still acceptable terms to entering one. And that would be that you agree on the terms at the beginning, and set ground rules. You don't spring an open relationship on someone after you already started your relationship. Also if someone is not "ready" for a monogamous or serious relationship they shouldn't be in any relationships, because part of relationships are to be inherently serious.

And you are still calling it a relationship?

If monogamy is important to you break up with him and let him find someone who doesn't mind not being exclusive. Or you can agree to an open relationship and see what happens the first time YOU decide to step out with someone else. He can't get mad; after all, since you didn't agree to be monogamous, you aren't cheating.

Technically he is correct. Monogamy may be the social standard, but no one is required to conform to that standard. If monogamy is important to you then you need to end the relationship and seek someone who shares your values.

@139 I ran out of edit time. I suppose the argument could be made that because monogamy is the social standard, it should be assumed unless both people agree on an open relationship.
