Today, my boyfriend didn't come home from a night of drinking with the boys again, so I told him that I was packing my things and I wouldn't be here when he came home. After all my things were packed, I realized he drove my car to the bar. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, my boyfriend called me as I was getting ready for bed and asked me to pick him up from the bar. Being a loving girlfriend I drive the 45 minutes; when I get there his friend informs me he left about 45 minutes ago. FML
Today, I went to a New Year's party with my boyfriend. Later into the night, he got drunk, and left me there to go to another party with his friends. I have no car, and no way to get home. FML
Today, I came home early, and my boyfriend's car was in my driveway. Inside, he was talking to my parents. He walked right past me and left. My mother then says, "He wanted me to tell you it's over." FML
Today, I took my boyfriend to meet my parents over dinner. During the meal, he excused himself to the bathroom, and when he didn't come back after a few minutes, I went to check up on him. I ended up finding him in the living room, pocketing a pack of ambien from my mom's bag. FML
What happened?
Today, after a short trip out of town, I came back late at night to the yard clean, the house swept and mopped, all the laundry done, and my son asleep. I was thrilled with my boyfriend, until I found him passed out, covered in spilled beer and piss. FML
Today, my boyfriend thought it'd be a good idea to break up with me in his car. I had to walk home. FML
Today, I got into a huge fight with my boyfriend after driving 200 miles to see him. While arguing, I told him I never wanted to see him again and left after slamming the front door. I left my car keys in his kitchen. FML
Wrong place, wrong time
Today, I went to my boyfriend's house so that he could break up with me. I went out to my car to leave only to discover that all of the wheels had been stolen. Even the spare. I had to spend the rest of the day with my ex-boyfriend finding a way to get my car home. FML
Enabling
Today, I let my boyfriend drive my car, knowing that he doesn't have a license. While he was out, he ran a stop sign, collided with another vehicle, and then left the scene of the accident. Then he lied to me about how the accident happened so I "wouldn't be so upset." FML
Stranded
Today, I volunteered to be my brother's designated driver. I told him throughout the night that I wasn't drinking, but he ended up leaving me at the bar and going to his friend's house in a cab for more drinks, taking my keys along with him. FML

How can you all assume that she's a controlling bitch? You can't just do whatever the hell you want in a relationship; there has to be compromise. If he wants to party and drink and spend every night away from home, why does he have a girlfriend? It's obvious that this isn't the same as just "hanging with the boys."

ooooh bummer. kinda wrecks the oomph factor but at least now he has to watch you leave =)

So, uh, use his car? Or just call a friend or something to pick you up.

why the hell did u let him take your car to a BAR in the first place? If he was gone long enough, then u should've known ur car was gone! Plus, when u leave someone for being drunk, u need to do it when they're sober, so they can regret the "big mistake" they made more

if he's got a car, take it and leave. if he doesn't, call a friend and have her go get your car and bring it to you (of course she'll need your keys). it's not a FML if there are extremely simple solutions to it.

Ah, sucks that he ruined your exit. Props to you for dumping the chump anyway.

I guess the circumstances of the relationship are key here. If I was married and starting a family, I think a night out with the boys would be unacceptable... however I'm not...I'm still young and brash. Maybe alcoholism is a factor here, or he acts real douchy. Sorry lady, I don't see the problem with someone hanging out with their friends all night. I think it's a little unfair to say that he can't do that. He's not bringing them back to your place, he's not driving drunk, it just sounds like you don't want him to go anywhere without you.

The whole calling thing is only good when you're sober enough to think clearly, after you cross a certain line calling your girlfriend/boyfriend only causes more harm than good. ...trust me :( It's best to wait till morning to call and explain things. (that’s for those of you who say he should have called) OP YDI that wasn’t a legitimate reason for leaving him, I agree with the people who call you a control freak. 1. Him being out all night =/= him cheating on you, if he really is your boyfriend then there must be a reason so you should have faith in him. 2. “didn’t come home from a night of drinking with the boys again”=/= going out and getting shitface every night, give the guy some space you’re not his mother for god sakes. Is he not allowed to have MORE THAN ONE night to himself, or is that too much freedom for a controlling girlfriend. 3. Since you are his girlfriend and not his wife I assume you are still at an age where going out and having a good time is still appropriate for your age. (I’m assuming they have no major responsibilities like kids) So it’s always best to get these thing like going out to bars/clubs/parties out of your system when you’re at the age. It’s so that you don’t end up with one of those late 20s or mid 30s crisis where you think you’ve wasted the chance and you’ll never have the opportunity in life again.

1. OP never said she suspected him of cheating 2. If a guy is going to spend his every night out and getting drunk, why would OP want to stick around for anyway? Obviously he's not interested in a serious relationship, and if she is, that's a completely legitimate reason to leave. 3. I wonder how often this "getting things out of your system" thing goes too overboard and negatively effects the outcome of a person's life. I hate that the whole 'you only live once' saying gets used all the time as an excuse for people to do whatever they want without regard for the consequences of their actions.

If he couldn't make it home it means he overestimated his drinking abilities and is now incapable of driving home responsibly... REGARDLESS OF WHOS CAR IT IS.

I def. think that a phone call could of made it better. If my man didn't come home all night I'd know I'd be pissed. I would be worried that something had happened to him. Its not fair to put someone through that kind of worry just to "have fun with the guys". You have to prioritize.

He deserves it for taking your car to drink in the first place. It's fine to drink and drive your car home but not his... Nice... Just take his car. Or call someone up to take you. OR go drinking yourself!

Well he obviously left the bar to go somewhere so why not go home? He can't very well just sleep at the bar and I highly doubt that's what he did.
