Today, my boss decided our 4 year relationship was unethical, so she broke up with me, then terminated my employment. FML
Today, I was talking to this girl I really like at my work. Everything was going fine until our boss called me into his office. Apparently I was being a little too flirty with his daughter. FML
Today, my girlfriend came to my workplace to tell me she was breaking up with me. My boss, who was passing by, fired me for "chatting with friends" during work hours. FML
Today, my boyfriend proposed to me. My boss called me into her office and congratulated me, and spent almost half an hour asking me what our wedding plans were, where we might honeymoon, if we wanted kids, etc. She then followed this by suddenly remembering she had called me into the office to sack me. FML
Today, my boss fired me because he wants to start dating my mother and apparently doesn't want it to be "awkward." FML
Today, my boss called me into her office to tell me I needed to mind my own business and not question everything my newest co-worker does. Yesterday, I stopped the new girl from giving $6,000 to the wrong person. I was fired on the spot. The new girl was promoted into my job. FML

Well, you don't really know the situation. OP might be the direct manager whose boss is a higher guy that decides who goes, but the manager still has to tell his people. But then it would be weird if OP wanted to ask that girl out.

I think you and the four employees have to complain to HR. It's not your job to fire workers and from the FML, it looks like unfair dismissal for the workers.

Well, OP may be a manager himself, so he may verywell have the authority and the responsibility for firing people. However, OP could explain to his flame that it's his boss that's firing her and he's just the messenger, then he can follow it up with a consoling dinner and a night time massage to sooth her.

37 - Actually, the FML is not so much having to go and fire the workers (though that does suck). What OP is trying to point out by telling us about the people he has to fire is that it sucks that one of those is his love interest :) which does suck, so FHL :(
