Today, it's the five year anniversary of my father's death. I was cuddling with my boyfriend and crying about how much I missed him. He replied with, "Sometimes, I think you just like to hear yourself talk." FML

Today, I called my boyfriend to have a shoulder to cry on because my grandpa died. As soon as I told him, he started crying and telling me how much he missed his grandmother, who died six years ago. I spent the majority of the phone call listening to him wail. FML
Today, my partner and I were cuddling on the couch, watching TV when she smiled and murmured, "You smell like my dad." FML
Today, I was crying because my cat died. My boyfriend cupped my face in his hands, looked me straight into the eyes and said, "I love seeing you cry." FML
Today, my mother and I were discussing how we couldn't believe it's been nearly a year since my dad died. Not paying attention, my husband absentmindedly added, "Time flies when you're having fun." FML
Today, I saw my dad for the first time in almost five years, at his funeral. FML
Today, I got back home from work and casually asked my dad, "What's up?" He casually replied, "Wishing I'd had a son instead." and stared glassy-eyed at me until I left the room. FML
Today, I was talking to my boyfriend on the phone. After a short pause I hear him say "I love you." Smiling I say, "I love you too." Then he says, "I was talking to my dog." FML
Today, my boyfriend laid his head on my bare chest and said, "You're like my mother." FML
Today, I was texting a friend of mine. She mentioned it was her dad's birthday. I typed, "Tell him 'Happy Birthday' from me!" and as I pressed send, I remembered her dad was dead. FML
Today, my boyfriend brought up the time he said he'd love me until the day he died. He continued by saying, "So, let's just pretend I died today." FML

Shameonmedude: troll, he wan'ts y'all riled up. Seriously. I lost my dad too, and my uncles and my grandpa. My dad when I was 2, my other uncle at round 4 and my favorite uncle at around 7. My uncle a year before Katrina when I was like 10. I know what it is like, I cry for my dad a lot. I know you can't miss someone you never knew, but that is like the main reason I miss him. Some people don't get how hard it is to lose parent when you are young. Even in high school, they never see you get married, go to college, graduate or have kids. It is really hard to think about the future sometimes. I so understand, and your boyfriend is a douche. Seriously, you should talk to him about his insensitivity. YLIF.
