It is actually fell swoop, #121. It dates back to the era of Shakespeare. Look up Macbeth, act IV, scene 3. Fell is an old English word not just meaning something having to do with gravity, but also something awful or terrible. Swoop indicates speed. Thus, Fell Swoop means a swift and horrible blow. There has never been an expression of "Fatal swoop." In actuality, Fatal Swoop is the mispronounced expression of Fell Swoop.
