Today, as a pizza delivery driver, I delivered to a customer with young kids. She gave the pizzas to one of her kids to take inside, where the kid dropped them and it went everywhere. She then rang the store and claimed that I'd dropped the pizzas, then told her to "suck it up." FML

Today, I had a lady come in to order a pizza. She wanted to use a free delivery coupon. After telling her several times that she couldn't use a free delivery coupon, unless she was having the pizza delivered, she told me I have horrible people skills. FML

Today, while working at a pizza shop near a college campus, I got an order to deliver to the dorms. Extremely busy at work and annoyed that someone wouldn't take 3 minutes to walk over, I spat on the pizza. When I arrived to the dorm, a woman in a wheelchair opened the door. FML

Today, I was waiting for my pizza delivery, which I had foolishly chosen to arrive at 5pm in the middle of rush hour. The pizza was roughly 30 minutes late due to this and I was so happy to get my pizza, I tried to help get the pizza out of the warming bag and somehow caused the delivery guy to drop his smartphone. FML

Today, I got yelled at in a grocery store by a customer who recognized me from the pizza place where I work. Apparently, I forgot mushrooms on her pizza earlier this afternoon. I had the day off, but thanks for the verbal lashing, lady. FML

Today, when making a delivery for the restaurant I work for, a customer shoved and yelled at me because she didn't get any fries with her order. She didn't order any, which isn't unusual, considering we're a Chinese takeaway and don't even sell them. FML

I work maintenance at a department store. I clean restrooms, the store, vomit, fix various things, etc etc. I'm also a university student with a 3.9 GPA. I'm working on having several articles on literary theory published. I say that not to boast, but to point out that just because you see someone doing something YOU think of as degrading doesn't mean it's their primary objective in life. I work maintenance because I have to, not because I want to. I work as a student tutor and with a professor, but that will not pay my bills (especially in the summer, when he's not working much and hours tutoring are almost nonexistent). Sometimes people aren't supported by mommy and daddy while they try to go to school or make ends meet. Sometimes we have to get something terrible that's called a job while we work to better ourselves for what we hope will eventually become our real 'living'.

#22 - Believe it or not, I worked a full-time hospitality job while going to school and paid for my education with various scholarships and student loans. No help from mommy or daddy here. Also, the "FYL" comment was meant as a sympathetic one, otherwise I would have given it a "YDI". I believe that's how things work on this here site.
