Today, I was sitting at a bus stop and a guy stops in front of me and says "Oh very nice. How much?" I reply "You couldn't afford me." An old guy sitting next to me says "I bet I could" and puts his hand on my leg. I forfeited the bus and walked home in the rain. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I was taking the bus home from work. As I was getting off an old man whistled at me, I told him to go to hell and got off the bus. When the bus drove away the old man stood in the back of the bus, holding up the wallet I left that he was trying to give to me. FML
Broke
Today, while sitting in a handicapped seat on the bus, an old man angrily approached me and chewed me out in front of everyone for not leaving the seat empty for "those who actually need it." Then he stormed off the bus, stepping heavily on my broken foot. FML
Today, I said thanks to a man who got up for me in the bus. He angrily said "no, not you!". The old lady who sat down is now staring at me. FML
Sucks to suck
Today, I was on the bus, when an elderly woman stepped in. She looked too weak to stand. She looked at me with sad puppy eyes, expecting me to give up my seat for her. I felt sorry and got up. As soon as she sat down, she said, "Ha! Sucker!" FML
Today, I was riding the public bus and a really fat, smelly guy sat next to me. He put his arm around my shoulder and asked me if I was single. My stop wasn't for three more miles. FML
Today, on my way to school, I was shouted at by an obnoxious businessman for sitting down on the train when a "full fare paying passenger" was standing. I would normally have given him the seat straight away, except I have a broken leg. I showed him my leg and crutches. He still made me get up. FML
Today, getting off a bus, it was pouring rain so I got my umbrella out. A man elbowed me in the gut and grabbed it. When I told my mom about it she said, "That's New York, get over it." FML
Today, I gave a homeless man my last bit of spare change so he could get on the bus. Just as I was about to get on too, I realized I'd lost my bus card. I had to get off the bus and watch as the man waved at me through the window. FML
Today, while I was on the bus to work, a morbidly obese man sat down next to me. When my stop came and I stood up to get off, he just looked at me, said with a smirk, "good luck with that," and went back to reading his paper. I missed my stop. FML
Today, I missed my bus. I had to ride my bike 2 miles. Once I left, some jerk nearly hit me. I flipped him off and shouted obsceneties. It was my dad, offering me a ride. He left. FML

You actually admitted in public that you are buyable? Well, what was wrong then with the old guy? You didn't even hear his offer.

@#112: That is idealistic to the point of naivete. Saying, "I shouldn't have to protect myself against creeps," is about as useful as saying, "I shouldn't ever have to worry about being homeless." Well, guess what? The world can be a harsh, crappy place. If you don't want to be harassed by assholes, and you live in a place with a lot of assholes, then don't walk alone, and sure as hell don't bait them. And sure, it'll still happen, and that's where my sympathies begin. The law, and other people, *should* be there to try to make things better. But to say that human nature is ever going to change is just dreaming. It's not fair, but that's the way it is. It's human nature at it's basest. This has been studied over and over. Most of us are vulnerable to it (being the asshole) when we think there won't be any consequences. The old guy, here, is OLD. He doesn't give a shit anymore whether or not he freaks her out or gets arrested. He wants to put his hand on a smooth leg while he's still alive. I'm sure she doesn't appreciate it, but old men aren't ever, ever, ever going to change. Women have their own foibles at various ages. Teenage girls will always, always, ALWAYS pick the worst schmuck in the world to bring home for a boyfriend, just to piss off their parents. I have two daughters, and I can already tell that one of them is going to do this. It's just our nature. Getting upset about it just prevents you from dealing with it. Playing it up as a big social issue that needs to be resolved is a waste of time, not because it was okay for them to do, but because it's an unsolvable problem.

Thuryn loses all and any credibility for saying the victim deserves it.

You missed the Borat reference.

And DS1 loses all credibility for insisting that people don't have to take responsibility for their own lives.

You don't say "you can't afford me" unless you want to project to everyone around you that you are in fact, for sale

The victim here is the old man. The girl sitting next to him, announces very loudly that she is a prostitute, and available for money. So he does what is appropriate for a sleazy old man who encounters a ***** making a such an announcement, only to find out she was just pretending to be a ***** for kicks

It if looks like a duck.... And acts like a duck.... It is a duck.... When it says it's a duck, but says it's a high class duck, who's to question otherwise. Don't like our answers. Post a link to your picture of how you were dressed. Maybe the first guy was just a perv, but since you said you were one, the second guys response was legitimate.
