Today, I was helping my Grandfather to sort through tubs and bins after cleaning out his attic, and I had to move a 50lb bin downstairs. That's when the dog thought it would be funny to block the top of the stairs as I was going down. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
PIVOT!
Today, I helped my parents move out of their old house. While I was guiding my dad down the stairs with the couch, my mom asked me to pick up the tape on the step below me. I bent over and grunted. My dad thought I said "Go" and kept moving. He knocked me down two flights of steps. FML
Today, my dog had diarrhea in his cage. While I was carrying his dirty bed downstairs to the washer, he ran by and tripped me. FML
Today, I'm at my grandparents' house to help clear snow. I was making a path to the driveway by pushing the snow out of the way. I saw a big pile and went to kick it really hard. Alas, it was a step. FML
Today, while at my friend's house, I decided to climb up on a shelf and pounce on him when he came back downstairs. When I heard someone coming, I assumed it was him and pounced. It was his grandma carrying the laundry. FML
Doggy dog world
Today, I had to carry the dead weight of my 90-pound husky upstairs to the bath because he hates it. He cried the entire time, loudly. He then rolled in the dirt when I let him outside to pee not even an hour later. FML
Today, I was standing at the top of the stairs petting my dog. The doorbell rang and my dog bolted down the stairs, tripping me. I fell down the whole flight of stairs backwards. Turns out the person at the door was my brother who had locked himself out. I almost died for no reason. FML
Coming through!
Today, I was helping my sister by getting some old boxes down from her attic. Too bad I didn't realize the piece of plywood I was standing on doesn't extend all over the attic floor. Of course, I did realize it when I went through the ceiling onto the concrete floor of her garage. FML
Today, I was cleaning out the cabinets under my kitchen sink and I farted with such force that my dog thought someone was knocking at the door. FML
Today, my dog got his head stuck in a container, panicked, and shat himself all over the living room. FML
Today, I fell down the stairs. My mom came running from the other room because she thought it was the dog. She rolled her eyes and walked away when she saw it was me. FML

These kinds of fmls are weird, like there is no real fml except one that is implied. Was it fml because it was heavy and they couldn't get through, or was it fml because the dog found out how heavy 50 lbs were when it was crushed? Alot of the times they are ok because the name can explain what happened but not here.

it's not really as if the dog knew you were carrying something that weighed fifty pounds

Pretty sure the FML is that OP dropped a 50 pound bin down the stairs. And possibly went down after it. As for the dog, the FML would imply that when OP tripped/dropped the bin, he/she/it was moving. Therefore the bin was also moving. Simple physics would indicate that the bin did not lose its horizontal motion when it was dropped, unless OP purposely stopped and dropped the bin on the dog. Tl;dr Dropping a 50 pound bin down stairs is a worthy FML, and either the dog is fine or OP should never be allowed to have pets again.

Well the thing about that is that we still don't know, being pretty sure won't change anything

The "pretty sure" was meant to be more snide/condescending than actually saying that I'm pretty sure. It's like when you're correcting someone and you say "pretty sure ... blah blah blah".

Damn it. You're a sick ****, and I accidentally upvoted you. So I'm writing this comment as a substitute downvote. Also, you should never have pets, ever.

I'm hoping that the OP didn't fall down the stairs as a result...

Did you fall? Is the dog ok?

This is why whenever I do anything like that, I lock my pets in a different room until I am done. Sure, they may not like it, but it keeps them from "helping" too much. Everything gets done faster without having to shoo pets out of the way every two seconds.

I thought this one was going to end with you finding a crate of pictures from your grandfather's career modeling adult diapers or something. . .gee whiz, a dog got in my way

When this happens I just head down the stairs the dog usually leaves...or in this case grab a different bin until the dog leaves...
