Today, after 3 years of hard work, very little vacation and no raises, our boss got us a crappy box of drug store cookies as an employee appreciation gift. Which he ended up eating. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I asked my boss for a raise. He gave me a cupcake. FML
Today, my boss decided that a mug and a public 'thank you' were a sufficient substitute for a Christmas bonus. FML
Oh, thanks…
Today, I lost it on my co-workers about how hard I've been working, picking up everyone's slack with no appreciation, and it was clear that I needed to find a job that actually rewarded hard work. As I went to grab my jacket to leave, I saw a cake and gift card for a cruise on the table, from the staff. FML
Great, some ice cream!
Today, after three years of working at my current occupation, they decided to give me a bonus for all of my hard work and effort. A 5$ gift card to Cold Stone. FML
Today, my boss found out that my girlfriend dumped me. He asked if that meant she would no longer bring her delicious homemade cookies to the office. When I said yes, he fired me on the spot. FML
Today, everyone at the office was finally presented with the bonuses our boss had promised to pay us by the end of last year. Turns out he was never authorized to promise any such thing, so he ended up just giving us signed "thank you" letters instead. FML
Help yourself
Today my boss went digging through my drawer, took a pack of gum, and told me I got him the wrong flavor. He kept it anyway. FML
Today, my boss ate a small piece of paper off her desk, thinking it was frosting. I have to work for this woman. FML
Back to work
Today, after working at the company for 15 years, all I got was a pin with the number 15 on it and a little bundled package of a pencil, small notebook, keychain and a mug saying “Thank you for all you do!” I wrote an e-mail to HR as to why I deserved a raise or bonus. I got threatened with “disciplinary action.” FML
Seize the means of production
Today, I discovered that as thanks for my successful efforts to increase my company's monthly revenue, my dumbass of a boss has been awarded a pay bonus. He's wasted no time telling everyone about the sports car he's planning to buy with it. FML

That sucks OP. Maybe time to find a new job, doesn't sound like employees are treated fairly.

That doesn't even hurt the boss, only the janitors, why should you hurt the janitors when they clearly have a crappy boss

that's the simple fact of corporation work. or any work at all. consider yourself lucky that you got a job at all. if you must find another job, do so before you quit your current one.

the sheer volume of FML's and the existence of bad bosses, incompetent bosses, well meaning but stupid bosses, bad coworkers, corrupt people, and so on, makes it all suspect. its simply easier to believe that the worse is not only possible, but an inevitability, so that when its subverted, it carries more weight than it otherwise would. and if its bad, oh well, you expected it, and prepared for it. no biggie.

What? You get paid the wage and benefits you agreed on when you were offered the job, right? What's with all these entitled assholes thinking they are due something extra "just because"?

Communism is about using the working man's "hammer" to rise up. At this point an actual hammer would do just fine

Personally I give out Dunkin gift cards, usually for 20, and also try to put my staff in for as many awards as possible (which usually have either vacation days or money attached) Having had crappy staff before- which makes my life very, very hard, I like to treat the good ones well. However, if you are not a great employee- taking tons of time off, calling out last minute, not completing projects- then it would prolly be store bought cookies too... Find a boss who will appreciate you.
