Today, I was arrested for drinking in public. It was my friend who was drinking; I was taking the alcohol from her so she wouldn't be arrested. FML

Today, I was the designated driver. On the way home with my drunk friends, they decide to give me a beer shower. I swerved, and was pulled over by a cop moments after. I was the only one arrested. FML
Today, I went to a bar with a close friend. She got drunk and was feeling sick, so I carried her to my car to take her to her house. Some stranger accused me of drugging her and tackled me with her in my arms. She threw up on me, and he took off running without an apology. FML
Today, I was drinking in the park with my friends. Being drunk, I relieved myself on a nearby tree. Unknown to me, a 4 year old was having her birthday party 100 yards away. I was arrested for public intoxication and exposing myself to a minor. FML
Today, I got a ticket for being drunk in public. I was walking a couple of blocks from the bar to my house, because I didn't want to drive drunk. FML
Today, I turned 21 and had a huge party because I could finally drink legally. Got arrested for public intoxication. FML
Today, I was pulled over for a DWI. The police officer was drunk. FML
Today, it was my friend's 18th birthday. She had invited us out drinking. I've never had alcohol before and was very excited. I got a call explaining that she had invited one too many and asked me not to come. People bragging on Facebook about what a great time they were having didn't help either. FML
Today, I was arrested for DWI in my own apartment complex. I had to be released into the custody of a sober adult, but I wasn't allowed access to my phone to get any numbers. I only have a few memorized. So I was picked up from jail by my ex-girlfriend and her fiancé - my manager at work. FML
Today, I was drunk and crashed on my friend's couch to sober up. On the drive home, a cop pulled me over for seemingly no reason. He kept asking if I had been drinking, to which I answered no. Finally, he told me to look in the mirror. My friends had written all over my face while I slept. FML
Today, I was at a bar with a friend. A guy came up to me, took my drink and drank it. I laughed and jokingly said "now, you have to buy me a drink." He said "I would rather buy your friend a drink." FML

At least you tried? This is almost like the saying "good friends bail you out of jail, best friends sit beside you and say "we ****** up". But in this case... You got screwed over. Sorry OP

I think it's legal to have open booze on the street where OP lives. I know where I am you can get arrested for drinking in public areas.

Where in the FML does it imply that anyone in this situation is underage? For all we know they could be 40 something adults with every right to drink, just not in public.

Were you perhaps slurring your words as well so your friend could understand drunk speech? A good idea, but you generally shouldn't do it when the cops are around.

I agree that they shouldn't have arrested OP, but I don't think they would have bothered with a drug test once they saw the bottle in OP's hands. Granted, they should have tested both of them, but nonetheless, they were probably too quick to judge.

7, in Australia it is illegal to have an open alcoholic beverage outside your house/front yard and OP mentioned it was for public drinking. They wouldn't have been charged for underaged drinking.

56 - Since when is it illegal to drink on your front yard? That's where we have BBQ's and parties. I've had the cops stop in front of my place because my friend was running back and forth across the road. They saw we were drinking and didn't do anything.
