Today, I was arrested for breaking into a house. This is what happens when I lose my key. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
On the hook
Today, I lost my keys. My roommate locked me out, then yelled at me when I made her come home to let me in. I tore my room apart searching for them, and even went out to search my locker room. When I got home, I glanced at my wall only to find my keys hanging on the hook I set up specifically for them. FML
Today, I accidentally locked my car and house keys along with my phone in my car. Then I had to break into my own house looking for the spare. Someone called the police and I had to explain that I lived there. I forgot to grab the spare when I went to talk to the police officers I locked the door behind me. FML
Today, I lost my house keys while staggering home drunk, so I decided to climb through an opened window and promptly went to bed. Twenty minutes later the police wake me up while attempting to search my place. The neighbors thought I was a burglar and called the cops. FML
Today, while driving home, I realized I forgot my house key. Luckily, when I arrived home, someone had already broken into my house. Guess I didn't need the key. FML
Today, I left a note on the kitchen table saying to leave the door unlocked because I lost my key. I come home to find our house ransacked and robbed. Minutes later, I found my key. In my pocket. FML
Today, I got locked out of my house. After trying unsuccessfully to jimmy the lock, I managed to climb in through the kitchen window. I soon found out I had an effect on the door after all; it won't open at all any more, even with the right key. FML
Today, in a rush to get out of my house to go to a doctor's appointment, I closed the door behind me without having my house or car keys on me. Sadly, it took me less than a minute to break into my own house. FML
Today, I locked myself out of my car. While walking home to retrieve the spare, I realized I locked my house keys inside the house this morning. Now I must decide whether to break into my house or car. FML
Today, I was breaking into a house when three police cruisers pulled up. They ran my social, my license plates, and asked me twenty minutes worth of questions, before allowing me to go back to work. I work as a locksmith; the homeowner had lost their keys. FML
Today, I spent forty minutes trying to break into my own house after being locked out. After finally getting in through a small unlocked window, I discovered my keys in my pants pocket. FML

Naww you gotta just make a bunch of copies so you always have one (this is what Hilary did in the Fresh Prince of Bel Air)

I just leave my kitchen window barely open *(not enough to be noticeable) so that if I forget my key, I just pop off the screen, push myself up, and slide in through and onto the kitchen counter... all though it's not to pleasant, landing in the sink.

They probably heard that excuse a million times. Nothing personal.

Start hiding spare keys.

That would piss me off if I got arrested for trying to get into my own house. Cops get involved in wrong situations. They should of been out stopping a drug deal or a drunk driver, but instead they arrest OP for entering his house.
deviable 9
Probably because a neighbor called them. Don't blame them for doing their job.
StoryOfTheYear 15
64- Were the cops supposed to just KNOW that OP wasn't a burglar?
hotPinklipstick 24
What does should of even mean? 'Should have' I know but should of? Everyone uses it now days, must be proper grammar that I am unaware of.
ThreeSheetsGone 12
Actually, cops are supposed to run a utility check on an address for this very reason. OP did nothing wrong, it's the cop who wasn't following protocol.
TheDeadlyTurtle 7
What if the cops seen someone trying to break into ur house? Claimed it was his and that it wasn't their business? I'd be more pissed off at my stuff missing than being arrested for a simple mistake.
ThreeSheetsGone 12
86- Unless they knew your name and had made a fake id that any cop worth his salt would see right through, I don't really see how that plan would work, and it's a huge hassle to go through just to break into one person's house.
jwade11 12
84- thank you, you see my side!
ThreeSheetsGone 12
It's not that I see your side, it's that I've dealt with law enforcement enough to know what procedures they are supposed to use in a given situation.
jasminea 0
Shouldn't you be able to explain that it is indeed your house and that you lost your keys? If not, then your life really is ******.
xk75 4
Right. Op was probably acting like a belligerent fool, and that's why he got arrested.
reaganomics 6
Agreed.....seems to me a drivers license with OPS home address would have cleared that up
purple91 8
Don't get caught next time.

You sir are stupid.
