Today, I've had my tenth "Christmas" dinner since Christmas last took place. My mum has gone nuts and keeps playing Christmas music, making these dinners, and refusing to let me take down the Christmas decorations. My dad is too whipped to save us from this hell. FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I came home to find my parents wearing Santa hats and blasting Christmas music at full volume. So begins three months of hell. FML
Festive spirit
Today, I'm already dreading Christmas. Our mom insists on fairytale-like decorations that everyone else pays for and helps her make. We're exhausted. She's the only one who doesn't have a job, but if we don't help she spends the day crying in her room. FML
Today, in the second week of August, hell has come to earth; my mom has been playing Christmas music all afternoon and is already searching online for decorations. I hope she buys a length of rope to go with them, because I've already given up on life. FML
Today, my mother has issued a 'Christmas Ultimatum'. The rest of us have exactly 2 days to "get some Christmas around here" or we will feel her wrath. FML
Festive spirit
Today, it's that time of year again: my mom has threatened to disown me if I celebrate Christmas in any way, shape, or form. Yes, she is an extreme bible thumper. No, she doesn't see what is wrong with her behavior, nor does she care. FML
Today, my mother was digging up our Halloween decorations, and found the Christmas decorations as well. She's shoddily decorated the house already in half-Halloween and half-Christmas style to save time. I guess we'll be celebrating Christmasween for the rest of the year. FML
At last
Today, on the third of February, my mom finally relented and let us take the Christmas decorations down. FML
Merry Christmas!
Today, it's Christmas Day. Normally, my family would be opening gifts right now. Instead, my mom is holding our gifts hostage until we clean the house. Apparently, "The presents aren't going anywhere." FML
Family Matters
Today, I already hate the holidays. My mom has been trying to be helpful, but has severe undiagnosed memory problems that our family ignores. They've also ignored all the house repairs, but have no problem consoling her while she cries how mean I am for missing her party, because I used my vacation time to fix the house. FML
Today, as I was hung over from a concert and refusing to get out of bed, my dad decided to hook up his top notch speaker system and play Christmas music that shook the house. It's July. Let the family weekend begin. FML

I also feel like this small detail is being a bit overlooked...

Almost as scary as the radio stations that start 24/7 Christmas music at the beginning of November D:

It's only the 4th of January, still early to finish up with all the Christmas decorations and spirit :) I'm still enjoying Christmas =)

36 are you op's mom?

My Christmas decorations are still up, but that's only because I'm a professional procrastinator.

Well 36 is Irish... this fml originates from Ireland... Inspector Budgie solves yet another mystery!

I don't know about the OP but there are plenty of people that still celebrate until January 6th. "The Twelve Days of Christmas" (Epiphany) This is the 10th day. Hopefully the OP only has two more left.

Almost right 43. Christmas ends on the 5th in Ireland.

My family takes the Christmas tree down about 3 weeks after Christmas. My parents say it's because they love Christmas so much that they never want it to end but I think they are just procrastinaters.

#62 - Well my family are too lazy to take a tree down so it's Christmas all year round. It's been up since 2012.

Get drunk and you won't remember any of it. You also have the possibility of completely ending it!

Or just not caring/remembering that it isn't Christmas anymore..

I also agree with the notion of alcohol. OP I will bring you some so that the deed may be done.

At least the craziness would be somewhat worth it, then, right? haha

See everyone on this not from Ireland will think she's crazy and that your dad is a coward! But fear not us fellow Irish citizens feel your pain! The Irish mammy is a force that isn't matched by anything else in ths world! A force so big that an Irish mammy could take over the world by just letting out a shout!

You took the words right out of my mouth! I came here just to comment on that same thing!

Everyone knows that Irish mommys* are from America. (Are Irish moms really that fierce?)
