Today, I proposed to my girlfriend while we were on my couch having a romantic moment. She seemed incredibly excited when she saw the ring and put it on. The way she bolted out the door tells me I'm not going to see her again. FML

I feel bad for you. My boyfriend told me he loved me very early in the relationship and way before I was ready to say it back, but he told me I didn't have to say it back and all was fine. A few weeks later, I was ready, and now we've been together for nearly 3.5 years. There's no need to literally run away and not come back. That's not the mature way to handle it.
