Today, I told my boyfriend I'll be moving to a different state in a few months for a new job. He now refers to me as his "girlfriend for now". FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Under my thumb
Today, I heard my girlfriend refer to me as her “boyfriend for now”, as in the guy she strings along until she meets the guy she loves and wants to marry. We’ve been together for two years and rent a flat together. FML
Today, my boyfriend of 3 months broke up with me because he is moving. He's only moving 20 minutes away. FML
OK, bye then
Today, my boyfriend of 3 years sprung the news that he had gotten a new job across the country and would be moving immediately. With his wife and children. First I'm hearing about them. FML
Today, my boyfriend moved. He moved from my room... to my housemate's room. FML
Hold up
Today, I quit my job and sent a mass mail on Facebook that I was moving to a different state with my long time boyfriend. He called me later that night to tell me we aren't moving after all. Now we are both jobless with loads of bills to pay by the end of the month. FML
Close, but no cigar
Today, my long-distance boyfriend of 3 years uttered the heartbreaking words, “I met this girl here in my hometown and she’s really great and we fell in love with each other, I can’t do this anymore. We’re over.” I was planning on moving to his town after graduation this year. FML
Today, my boyfriend referred me to me as "just a friend" to his ex. They swapped phone numbers. FML
Today, I was introduced to friends of my boyfriend as, "My other girlfriend." FML
Great timing
Today, I finally got the courage to tell my boyfriend that I love him. We've been dating almost a year and in a few days we will be moving into the same apartment building and attending the same college. He said, "I'm sorry, I don't feel the same way." FML
You can't hurry love
Today, my boyfriend of 3 years left me for a girl he's barely known for 3 weeks. FML

Have you two spoken about this before? I mean, was this info out of nowhere? Maybe he's hurt that you're moving and doesn't really know what to say. Communicate if you havent!

It's quite possible OP didn't know about the move herself until she told him. Although it she applied for the job knowing it was out of state, then that seems like the sort of thing you would discuss with a significant other first.

And now you can refer to him as your ex.

Is he wrong though??

So basically she told him she is moving away from him to take a new job and most of you think he is the bad guy??? Why should he take their relationship seriously if she doesn't.

Did you ever communicate with him that you were looking for a new position, in another state? Because the way you've written this, that sounds like a no. Do you want him to go with you, did you ask him to go with you? Talk to him!

Are you planning on leaving him or wanting a long distance? Either way it sounds like you could have discussed that with him before accepting the job, regardless if it would have affected your decision or not

You won't find sympathy here. Sounds like there was no prior discussion on this. I mean were you expecting him to say "Yeah sure I'll quite my job and go with you", " I'll wait for you to return baby". Sure there is the options for long distance relationships, but to already experience the person being by you is like being able to see and lose your eye sight to some bleach.Just makes it that much harder to deal with.

From the manner with which you wrote your FML it seems rather out of the blue "hey baby! I just accepted an offer for a new job! yeah it's so awesome, I'll be moving to Michigan in 3 months!!" When in all honesty if you wanted this to be a serious, long term commitment you should have spoken with him and communicated your desire to accept the job offer and move. then it would be a mutual choice to move or stay or split. I am not saying that you should give up your desires to be with someone, but I am saying that you took all of the choices away from him so in that moment you let him know that he is not your future, he is not your top priority, and you do not respect him enough to even ask his opinion or let him weigh in on your life as a couple. When I was in high school, I knew several couples where the guy announced well in advance that when they were going to their different colleges, they would break up, as they couldn't deal with "separation anxiety" (strange how they all used the same excuse). While I totally get relationships ending after high school, I think announcing the end of your relationship in advance has something perverse. If one person in the relationship doesn't care for the other much beyond having sex and is planning on your disposal... don't make them wait for it once they've shown their true colors.

Well if you decided to move away without discussing it with him at all I don't blame him
