Today, I submitted a poem for my English class. I had fun writing it, so I wrote a second which was not nearly as good. My procrastinator of a friend never did his, so I gave him my extra poem. Mine was given a 75% while "his" received a 93%. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, we got our results for our final grade English paper on which I worked my butt off on, and also which I let my best-friend copy off from. I received a E- and two detentions for plagiarism. My friend got a A-. All she said was, "Oh well, at least you tried your best". FML
Today, I had my teacher look over my essay before turning it in. He said it was extremely well-written, so I handed it in. When I got it back, the feedback he left said it was one of the worst essays he'd ever read. FML
Today, I turned in an overdue English assignment at college. My instructor accused me of plagiarism, writing that my sentence structure was "TO" good. Seriously? FML
Today, I saw a person in my class completing a project that was due two periods later and that they had just started in the bathroom. They got a better grade than me. FML
Today, I turned in an essay after staying up late to work on it. I was away when the teacher assigned it, so I'd asked my friend what the subject was. It transpires that she'd given me the wrong one, all because she was mad at me for not returning her pencil. FML
Today, my English professor bragged to my entire class about how good my essay was. He kept on saying great things about it for the duration of class. To my surprise, he'd given me a C-. When I asked why, his only response was: "I'm a hard grader." FML
Today, I received a terrible grade for an essay I worked really hard on. I had two friends, one being an English major, check it over. However, apparently I "clearly didn't use spellcheck" on this essay just like the last one I submitted to her. FML
Today, I got a writing assignment back. After meeting with my professor specially after class and meticulously combing through every word of that paper, I got a low D. Turns out, he graded me down on every suggestion of his that I took. FML
Today, my teacher gave me a 0% on my personal narrative in my writing class. His only comment on the whole paper was, "Too long, didn't read." FML
Today, after finishing a huge French essay, I realized my printer wasn't working. So, I emailed it to a guy in my class to print and then give to me. When I get to French, he said he had already turned his in early and never got my email. It turned out he used mine. I got an F on the essay. FML

i don't understand why you're giving him your work. you're not helping him, you're harming him by letting him think he can get away without doing work. the teacher'll also have a false impression of his work standard and maybe challenge him even more. he'll then blame you and he'll think he can get work from you next time. sorry, but YDI on this one.

it could be that the teacher's grading was subjective. always expects high quality from you and the 1st poem didn't meet it. but then expects nothing from your friend but receives one, so they got a higher grade

Ask him to compensate you or threaten him to tell the truth (if the handwriting is the same, it would be easy). If he refuses, he's not really a friend.

They were both in violation of most academic honesty policies. If he ratted his friend out, he'd be in as much trouble.

Are you serious? It's his fault for willingly giving it up, expecting it to be turned in as someone else's work, just as much as it's his friends fault for turning in someone else's work.

If you demand compensation or threaten to turn your friend in, you're the one who's not a good friend. I dunno about where you're from but around here friends don't blackmail each other over petty shit like this.
