Today, my instructor turned up late to get me for my driving test. I soon realized something was seriously wrong. Turned out his wife left him last night, and he'd been drinking the pain away all morning. He ended up rear-ending another car, and now I have to reschedule my test. FML

Today, I passed my driver's test. My instructor took the learner signs off his car and let me drive back to my place. I guess he didn't bet on me crashing the car just a few blocks from the test center. FML

Today, I attempted to make a good impression amongst new coworkers by volunteering to be the designated driver at my work party. What did that get me? A backseat full of puke and some idiot too drunk to remember where he lived. FML

That's a type a job that's kinda scary but it can be really good. You can help people out with their struggle and you also get really good insurance. Down fall death.

call the cops, lives have been lost to idiots dui. he should banned for life and never get a license even if he didn't touch the wheel.. normally in the uk you do the theory test before taking any practical driving lessons. the theory test covers all aspect of the law and driving.

I hope that you never lose anyone you love in your life because some idiot chose to impair their decision making ability by using some chemical. You might find that you change your mind damn quick. I lost my 6 yr. old son back in May of 1997. Then, just a little over two years ago, my 97 lbs fiance got hit by a drunk driver in his 1,400 lbs auto and dragged for over 50 feet. She had to suffer for several days before she died. Still think that drunk driving is a joke?!

I dont think #42 meant the comment as a joke. I think the point was that unfortunately, you can only stop people in the act of drunk driving. You cannot actually stop them from getting in the car. Clearly, OP shouldn't (didn't) let the guy drive, and reporting him to the cops may have done something, but it doesn't guarantee that he wont go out and do something stupid after drinking.
