Well now you can give your clients counselling on what not to do from first hand experience! Start charging more!!!

Well learn from your own shortcomings and help yourself and others, I'm sorry about it but hopefully it gets better for ya OP.

Find a new career.

I forsee a career change in the near future, no?

no.

I have slept on this, and I feel the need to opt for a new perspective... I think her career could actually benefit from it, now that she has the experience. It might not be so bad, she's gone through it all! However, I do find it weird for her not to have gone through marriage counselling herself, and if she had and it hadn't worked out, well how could she have faith in her own practice? Food for thought.

You might not want to let your clients know that

Whats wrong with that?

OP gives advice on how to keep a marriage when he/she could not do that for themselves.

Ironic. Consder becoming a divorce counselor: some people can benefit from not being married ;)

Now you can relate to your patients what it's like to be divorced and its downside. Maybe it'll help them fight harder for their marriage when they realize how difficult it could be?

oh the irony - however maybe you'll be able to provide more experience and actually give some proper advice. many marriage counselors have never been in a close-to-divorce moment in their life and can hardly understand those whom they're trying to help.

Strap on your seat belt, sounds like you're in for a crazy ride!

Escape isn't always a bad idea. I'd've gone to you...

First hand experience on what suggestions to not give out. Sorry OP, I hope it gets better.
