Today, I moved back in with my parents in order to help them with the mortgage, so they don't lose the house that has been in our family for three generations. I also found out that I now have a curfew, and so does my husband and our 3 year old son. FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Masking off
Today, I moved in with my parents because I can't afford to live on my own. I now pay 100% of the bills and can't leave because I can't save to replace my stolen/totaled car. I also can't drop my mask at home because 33 is apparently to old to be autistic, and I'm so tired and burnt out. I'm also not allowed to sleep. FML
Waste of time
Today, my parents have separated. I stayed with them, living at home far too long for my own comfort, just to help them keep it together after they lost their remaining parents. Literally the month after I moved out, they decided it wasn't worth it. I now suspect they stayed together only because I still lived at home. FML
Today, I let my estranged husband move back in with my son and me. Later, his pregnant and underage girlfriend knocked on my door, crying about how her mom kicked her out. I'm such a pushover, they're in my bed and I'm on the couch. FML
Control
Today, I moved out of my parents' house and started living alone. All of a sudden, my parents started requiring me to text or call them every 5 minutes to tell them where I am and what I'm doing, from 6am to 12am every day. If I don't, they will go looking for me, and force me to move back in with them. FML
Oddly specific
Today, I have no choice but to move back in with my mom and her husband, who are still married even though he's responsible for the house fire that killed my two younger brothers in 2013. FML
Today, I had to admit to everyone, including my cable guy, that I'm moving back in with my parents. FML
Today, marks the third time this month my parents came to visit. I moved 5 hours away to get away from them. FML
Today, after months of telling my parents I was going to live on my own, I finally moved out. Not even 24 hours being out of their house, some reject burned down the apartment complex I live in. Guess who's moving back home. FML
Just no!
Today, after I just bought a house that is pretty good and suits all our needs for space, my in-laws moved in because they ran into financial troubles. Guess who is stuck with all the extra expenditures? FML
Today, I visited my dad. He gave the, "You live under my roof, you follow my rules" lecture since I didn't do my "chores". I moved out 3 years ago. FML

I moved back in with my mom once to get back on my feet. never again. I had a beer one night and she cursed me out for hours. in the end their house their rules. live with it or leave it.

In your case, you were depending on your folks, so you had to take whatever they dished out. In the OP's situation, the folks are financially dependent on her and her husband. That's a different situation entirely.

"I had a beer one night and she cursed me out for hours." Ever stop to think that was her way of getting you out of the house?

Suck it up or move out. They won't live forever.

Explain to them that you are not a kid anymore and tell them if they don't lay off on the kid stuff that you are going to have to move out again.

You're the one helping your parents. Lay down the law, missy! You have the power to threaten to revoke your help.

This whole fml is useless unless you tell us what the curfew is, if it is before 11pm then it is ridiculous, but Im sure your parents want insomnia because of you waking them up at 3 in the mourning added to their list of problems, which would include financial failure and their child moving back into their house to "help them" when just giving them a check would be perfectly fine. So ydi for being a moron.

#76 -- With regard to an independent adult, parents attempting to instill ANY curfew -- 11:00am, 1:00am, 5:00am -- is ridiculous. Also, "mourning" means to be grieving; you meant "morning" (a time of day).

She probably can't afford to pay their mortgage and her own rent. The money that would have been going to rent is now going towards the mortgage. I'm going to assume you're a teenager so you don't know how these things work.

Just talk to your parents they should understand that you are an adult and wish to be treated as such.

speak up your mind instead of rambling on internet, you're an adult

It's either "speak your mind" or "speak up" not both. Choose one. Don't be greedy. :-P Also, 51 wins this thread.

#51 is clear up towards the top. I hate the post numbering system on this site.
