Today, I moved back in with my parents in order to help them with the mortgage, so they don't lose the house that has been in our family for three generations. I also found out that I now have a curfew, and so does my husband and our 3 year old son. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Masking off
Today, I moved in with my parents because I can't afford to live on my own. I now pay 100% of the bills and can't leave because I can't save to replace my stolen/totaled car. I also can't drop my mask at home because 33 is apparently to old to be autistic, and I'm so tired and burnt out. I'm also not allowed to sleep. FML
Waste of time
Today, my parents have separated. I stayed with them, living at home far too long for my own comfort, just to help them keep it together after they lost their remaining parents. Literally the month after I moved out, they decided it wasn't worth it. I now suspect they stayed together only because I still lived at home. FML
Today, I let my estranged husband move back in with my son and me. Later, his pregnant and underage girlfriend knocked on my door, crying about how her mom kicked her out. I'm such a pushover, they're in my bed and I'm on the couch. FML
Control
Today, I moved out of my parents' house and started living alone. All of a sudden, my parents started requiring me to text or call them every 5 minutes to tell them where I am and what I'm doing, from 6am to 12am every day. If I don't, they will go looking for me, and force me to move back in with them. FML
Oddly specific
Today, I have no choice but to move back in with my mom and her husband, who are still married even though he's responsible for the house fire that killed my two younger brothers in 2013. FML
Today, I had to admit to everyone, including my cable guy, that I'm moving back in with my parents. FML
Today, marks the third time this month my parents came to visit. I moved 5 hours away to get away from them. FML
Today, after months of telling my parents I was going to live on my own, I finally moved out. Not even 24 hours being out of their house, some reject burned down the apartment complex I live in. Guess who's moving back home. FML
Just no!
Today, after I just bought a house that is pretty good and suits all our needs for space, my in-laws moved in because they ran into financial troubles. Guess who is stuck with all the extra expenditures? FML
Today, I visited my dad. He gave the, "You live under my roof, you follow my rules" lecture since I didn't do my "chores". I moved out 3 years ago. FML

I know exactly where you are coming from and I feel your pain!

3 generations? Obviously not the original mortgage. Why should you have to move back home to take care of your parents excessive spending?

That's what I was thinking. Of course, if they keep the house the property taxes would be pretty low.

If the mortgage hasn't been paid off in three generations... maybe they should lose the house?

simple solution. say that if you and your husband and your child don't get the curfew removed then you are going to move out of the house and they will lose it. tell them it's a lose lose situation if they keep the curfew because they will lose the house because you moved out and you will feel hated by them and possibly be cut out of the will. but it's a win win situation for both of you if they get rid of the curfew because you get to come and go as you please and they get to keep the house. and if they still refuse move out and when they lose it remind them that they had the option of eliminating your curfew and if they did they would still I've the house. problem solved!

who has a mortgage on a 90+ year old house, that has been in the family that long. unless op does not realize a generation a is 30 years. ydi - in any case. if you can't have a serious conversation with your parents to discuss the issues, deal with it and stop whining.

Your parents need to be more concerned about paying off the loan than your family's curfew. Besides why did your parents pull a risky loan out against the house that has been in your family for so long?

If the house has been in your family for 3 generations, why are you still paying a mortgage?

You don't have a curfew, neither does your husband. And your child has the one you set, not them. Make sure you respectfully make this clear.

if this house was in your family for that long, why are your parents still paying a morgage on it?
