Today, I made a mistake at work that got seven people fired. I'm scared to leave the office because they're all outside. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I made a fatal mistake that may cost my company thousands of dollars. This was right after I got a recognition for my outstanding work last week. FML
Today, I accidentally emailed the entire company everyone's salary, sales history, and the names of four people I intended to fire. FML
Today, my co-workers and I have to fight for our jobs because of a mistake our managers made. They get to keep their jobs. FML
Occupational hasard
Today, while at work as a digital personal shopper at Walmart I was done picking, so I went to go put the cart away. I ended up hitting a coworker because she was crouched down cleaning something. I felt so bad and now I’m scared I’m going to get fired. FML
Full blast
Today, I found out about a mistake I made at work when the director brought it up in an all-staff meeting, including staff from a different office. It was the first I time I'd heard about it - along with everyone else. Not as fun as it sounds. FML
Stabie genius
Today, I fired all 12 of my employees, purely out of anger and frustration. Realizing my mistake when I'd calmed down, I called each employee and apologized, asking if they'd come back. Only one said yes. The mailroom clerk. FML
Today, I found out that my coworker shared a laugh with the boss about setting the office desk on fire (which he actually did), while ten minutes later I was threatened with being fired because I made paper snowflakes and hung a few of them next to the computer. FML
Broadcast
Today, I had to call a coworker to the office via the store intercom. The damn thing didn't turn off properly and everyone heard me say, "I hate that asshole. Just be where your dumb ass should be." I realized my mistake a few seconds before my manager stormed in and threatened to fire me. FML
Today, my boss fired me because I corrected him after he misspoke during a meeting. FML
Not a good look
Today, it's day one of my suspension and probably being fired from my job. Why? I accidentally took a beer out my bag instead of a soda, then got distracted working to make sure everything got done. FML

how did you get 7 people fired? I'm thinking that this couldn't of been just something you did a company doesn't fire that many people at once unless their planning on it before hand. That's just to many new people to hire and bring in at once so i'm thinking they were downsized not something you did. The only thing I think of that you did was that they were unsure who to downsized and you mentioned something about those 7 employees that made your work decide that those 7 would get downsized

Everyone is assuming that his boss doesn't know... I know plenty of bosses that would protect their pet protege at the cost of seven other people.

IF, and that's a big IF, this is true, there are only one way I can see this going down: OP accidentally ratted out the other 7 people for something they were doing against co. policy, such as stealing (as mentioned by another poster). Otherwise, his mistake would have gotten him fired. Any mistake large enough to cost 7 jobs would be big enough to cost him his own. (Unless he's the boss's son, etc. as speculated) If he'd gotten fired, he would already be outside with the other people. I think he still has a job. Bosses might have also used the mistake as an excuse to get rid of people they wanted to fire anyway. Still, I really really want to know what the mistake was....

what probably happened is the boss wanted to fire them anyway and didn't care it was anyone's fault. made his job easier firing the other employees.
