Today, I meant to send a cheeky “I’m out of the office” reply to my team but instead hit “reply all” on an email chain with my entire company, including my boss, HR, and some clients. The message included a joke about “sleeping through meetings” that was NOT work-appropriate. FML
Today, I sent an important email to my entire team, but I accidentally left a shopping list as the subject line. They responded with grocery items they needed. Nobody mentioned the email content. FML
Today, I accidentally sent a text message meant for my best friend to my boss. The text was about how much I hated my job and my boss's constant micromanagement. FML
Today, I accidentally sent highly confidential patient records to a fired employee. This employee made the biggest song and dance about it, calling every boss possible. I couldn't have sent it to a better person. FML
Today, I was emailing my department about a huge meeting we’re going to have. I was also emailing back and forth with another colleague about office gossip. I absentmindedly replied to the wrong email. I hit reply all to the meeting e-mail, saying that the new supervisor of X department was "so fucking retarded." FML
Today, at work, I accidentally walked into a meeting at which the whole company was there but me. The meeting was about how they could legally fire me while paying as little severance as possible. I'm the CEO and the founder of the company. FML
Today, I accidently sent that my butthole was on fire to a group chat with my boss. FML
Today, I sent a reply-all email to my entire company that said "Go tit" instead of "Got it". FML
Today, I made a digital contact card for my department that needed to be sent to payroll. Since we didn't have one before, I sent a copy to the rest of the department to use if they wanted. I didn't send the blank though. I sent 100s of people all of my contact info. Somehow, I managed to misspell my own name too. FML
Today, I emailed my fiancé the assignment that I was handed for a journalism job interview, asking for him to take a look and give opinions about it. I accidentally e-mailed it to the job interviewer. She responded, and even CCed it to the CEO. FML

Surely that is a MASSIVE breach of the Data Protection Act 1998, likely you're liable for a lot of lawsuits. Also likely you wouldn't be able to "accidently" do something like that, but I'm going to ignore that past.

Well being one a therapist and two british all i can reccomend is to write a letter to your branch manager ( if applicable) telling how much of a swine he is and what he's put you through. But do it AFTER you get the sack. peace out x

He will probably be in luck on the Federal law side in the US. The US Personal Data Privacy and Security Act of 2009 (comparable to the Data Protection Act) has not yet been introduced to the US Senate. There have been numerous lawsuits regarding personal data breaches like this though - the most recent published at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Hope the company, the employees whose data was leaked, and his bosses have a really good sense of humor.
