Today, I had to watch my neighbor's daughter for 10 hours. She wouldn't eat anything I had to offer, so I ordered a pizza for $19 + a $5 tip = $24. Her father came by to pick her up, thanked me, and gave me a $20 bill. I effectively just paid to watch his kid. FML

Today, while delivering pizzas, someone ordered $19.41 in pizza and wings. After finally finding her appartment, she paid me in two sandwich bags full of pennies and nickels. I had to count them out before giving her the pizza. We aren't allowed to enter the residence, and it was 22 degrees. FML
Today, I babysat for my neighbor's brat kid. The mom gave me $15 for 5 hours. I complained to my mom when I got home because last time I got $15/hour. Turns out my mom had told my neighbor that she thought they'd paid me too much last time. Thanks mom. Thanks. FML
Today, I tutored a kid for two hours, for $25 an hour. When it came time for them to pay, my mother told the kid's parents that they could give me ten bucks for the whole thing. She does this a lot. FML
Today, I was delivering pizzas for my summer job. I got a big order to deliver for a fellow graduate's party. While I was being paid for the order my friend shows up and says "Don't pay him, his parents are rich, he can handle it." Then they shut the door and took off. The bill was $75. FML
Today, I got a $20 tip from an old lady I delivered pizza to. Ecstatic, I walked back to my car where there was a $30 parking fine waiting for me. FML
Today, while I was delivering pizza in the torrential downpour, I waited 5 minutes in the pouring rain for an old lady to dig 20 bucks out of her purse. Her total was $19.99. She told me to keep the change and make lots of money. FML
Today, I ordered pizza for dinner and left cash by the door so my son could pay for it, in case it arrived before I got home. I told him they should get all the money, but I just found the tip. Apparently he thought I'd miscounted. I'm a server. FML
Today, I babysat the neighbors’ evil kids. They dropped them over at my house and I played with them for five hours. After taking the brats back home and putting them to bed, their mother asked me what time I came back to the house. She only paid me for the 20 minutes I was in their house. FML
Today, I had to pay my manager $10 just to take my stalker's order so I didn't have to. FML
Today, my daughter asked for a dollar to buy ice cream from the ice cream truck while I was on my computer working. Out of my wallet she took a fifty dollar bill. The ice cream man got a big tip before driving off. FML

Oh hell no! Not sure what the minimum wage is where you live (in California it's $8.00/hour, most states around the same), but you should be demanding AT LEAST minimum wage for babysitting. Not to mention that caring for a human life in and of itself, is deserving of a little more than minimum wage. Never babysit for that guy again. And if that ever happens again, stand up for yourself!!!! Let him know that because his little brat wouldn't eat anything, you paid for food out of your own pocket. Not okay at all. Don't sell yourself short!

It's just $4. Maybe he thought you were doing him a favor. Favor = free. So the $20 was a bonus for you. It's not his fault you couldn't handle the demands of a child who refused to eat.

Some people are ridiculous and overpay for pizza. I ate a slice of my roommate's pizza the other day when I came home from my late-night job, thinking he'd want 50 cents or so. Turns out it cost more than $20.

$20 is a really shitty pay for that amount of time, but you only lost $4. Besides, he didn't ask you to buy a pizza. You could have cooked something for the kid. I really do think he would have paid you back for the pizza. Also, the fact that he paid you $20 could either mean he's super cheap and you shouldn't watch his kid again, or he's not financially stable, and you should watch the kid to do something nice for him.

i would never buy pizza for a kid i babysit, its either they eat what they have, or starve. and one time i babysat for 4 hours and i got paid 40bucks and the whole time the kids were asleep.
