Today, I had to watch my neighbor's daughter for 10 hours. She wouldn't eat anything I had to offer, so I ordered a pizza for $19 + a $5 tip = $24. Her father came by to pick her up, thanked me, and gave me a $20 bill. I effectively just paid to watch his kid. FML

Today, while delivering pizzas, someone ordered $19.41 in pizza and wings. After finally finding her appartment, she paid me in two sandwich bags full of pennies and nickels. I had to count them out before giving her the pizza. We aren't allowed to enter the residence, and it was 22 degrees. FML
Today, I babysat for my neighbor's brat kid. The mom gave me $15 for 5 hours. I complained to my mom when I got home because last time I got $15/hour. Turns out my mom had told my neighbor that she thought they'd paid me too much last time. Thanks mom. Thanks. FML
Today, I tutored a kid for two hours, for $25 an hour. When it came time for them to pay, my mother told the kid's parents that they could give me ten bucks for the whole thing. She does this a lot. FML
Today, I was delivering pizzas for my summer job. I got a big order to deliver for a fellow graduate's party. While I was being paid for the order my friend shows up and says "Don't pay him, his parents are rich, he can handle it." Then they shut the door and took off. The bill was $75. FML
Today, I got a $20 tip from an old lady I delivered pizza to. Ecstatic, I walked back to my car where there was a $30 parking fine waiting for me. FML
Today, while I was delivering pizza in the torrential downpour, I waited 5 minutes in the pouring rain for an old lady to dig 20 bucks out of her purse. Her total was $19.99. She told me to keep the change and make lots of money. FML
Today, I ordered pizza for dinner and left cash by the door so my son could pay for it, in case it arrived before I got home. I told him they should get all the money, but I just found the tip. Apparently he thought I'd miscounted. I'm a server. FML
Today, I babysat the neighbors’ evil kids. They dropped them over at my house and I played with them for five hours. After taking the brats back home and putting them to bed, their mother asked me what time I came back to the house. She only paid me for the 20 minutes I was in their house. FML
Today, I had to pay my manager $10 just to take my stalker's order so I didn't have to. FML
Today, my daughter asked for a dollar to buy ice cream from the ice cream truck while I was on my computer working. Out of my wallet she took a fifty dollar bill. The ice cream man got a big tip before driving off. FML

I don't know why you took a job for 10 hours without being specific about pay. $20 is nowhere near enough, you should have been looking at $50-$75 at the very least. You also should not have ordered the pizza, especially if you were at the kid's house. If the kid didn't want to eat what they had- too bad. I put YDI, mostly because of the pizza thing.

These days babysitting is $10 per hour. And if you ordered the pizza, it should have come out of their pocket and not yours. They aren't your kids, you shouldn't have to pay for them.

Firstly, everyone else is right - you should tell parents about the food. Second, im sure he'd be more than happy to pay. Third - this girl doesn't sound very old, and im sure you could have just ordered by the slice. >_>;

$19 for a pizza sounds about right for a large specialty from Pizza Hut, especially if prices have gone up. A medium 1 topping with tax was $10.27 when I worked there a few years ago, and I think a 1 topping large was around $15. A lot of those deals require you order a large at regular price or whatever and then you get an additional large for $5. If it was a local pizza place, then I would definitely believe it, as some are more expensive than the chain places (its like $12-14 for a medium from Pizza King). Sucks for you, though, only getting $20.
