Today, I got my first tattoo. It was a surprise for my fiancé: our names together over a heart. I went home but before I could show him, he said we had to have a "talk." So now my ex's name is tattooed on my back. The kicker? Turns out I'm allergic to the ink. FML

Today, I got a tattoo with my boyfriend's name on it. As we're coworkers, I showed it to him thinking he’d love it. He told me he couldn’t continue the relationship anymore since he realized he wants to fix things with his wife. Three hours of pain and 2 years down the drain. FML
Today, I went to get a tattoo of my girlfriend's name to surprise her. Halfway through the tattooing, she called and broke up with me. FML
Today, I realized my husband and I have been fighting a lot lately, so to show him how much I care, I got a tattoo with his name on it. He hates it. FML
Today, my tattoo artist boyfriend of five months gave me my first tattoo in celebration of my 18th birthday. It was supposed to be a heart with my name in script. He spelled my name wrong. FML
Today, I decided I was going to dump my needy girlfriend. I was about to break the news when she stopped me. She showed me her new tattoo she had gotten. Our names, surrounded by a love heart spread across her back. She reckons I should get a matching one. FML
Today, my boyfriend of 2 years took me to get a tattoo done with his name on. He paid for it. After it was done he told me it was over between us and he thought it'd be a nice reminder of him for me. FML
Today on my birthday, my wife thought it would be a good idea to get matching tattoos. Our tattoo artist happened to be her ex-boyfriend. I sat and listened to them talk about their relationship and how they should stay in touch. FML
Today, my fiancé freaked when he noticed the tattoo on my wrist, and demanded to know when I got it. It was two years before we even started dating. FML
Today, my girlfriend dumped me for the tattoo artist who gave us our matching "love" tattoos. FML
Today, I asked my boyfriend what he'd think of me getting his initials tattooed over my heart. "That's awesome, babe," he answered enthusiastically. "But could you get them on your ass instead?" FML

This is why you never tattoo a name on yourself. Try something symbolic, that way if this happens, it's just a tattoo and doesn't have to mean anything anymore

dont get someone else's name tattooed on u. the onli one i would be understanding with is a tattoo of ur child or relative, not some boyfriend. life's a bitch but u should've known that. plus... IS THIS UR FIRST TATTOO?! how could u have not known that ur allergic to the ink UNLESS it was ur first tattoo. u should've started off with something simple like a turtle, not ur bf's name

lol @ #18 It isn't a turn-off for all guys. I have had quite a few guys that think that mine is nice: http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/4238/tattooc.jpg See! It isn't bad at all. Now I agree with #27. People drenched in tattoos make them unattractive for the most part, though sleeves can be nice on men.

Yeah.. bad choice... but in all fairness, being engaged, you thought this would be forever. And no one knows what they're allergic to until they find out either the hard way or with an allergy test.

that wasn't the best idea ever, but there isn't much use in beating yourself up over it. getting it removed is really all you can do at this point. #18 - please explain Angelina Jolie.

I have to agree...why would you tattoo a name on you? That's stupid. Unless you're so narcissistic that you feel like you should have your own name on your own body. Or you follow #11's advice- children's names only...
