Today, I got detention from my teacher for not handing an assignment in. It would be understandable if I hadn't handed it in a week before it was due. She won't listen to reason. FML

Today, my friend's phone rang in class and my teacher thought it was me, so now I have detention for a week. FML

My teacher noticed and gave me detention for "goofing off" when I should be doing my work. When I told the teacher I was already done, they gave me a second detention for "attempting to defy them". FML
Today, I turned in an essay after staying up late to work on it. I was away when the teacher assigned it, so I'd asked my friend what the subject was. It transpires that she'd given me the wrong one, all because she was mad at me for not returning her pencil. FML
Today, my parents got a call from my English teacher. She told them that I have 14 days of detention because I've been cutting class. I've been there every day, but apparently she never noticed me. FML
Today, I fell asleep in class. I'm the teacher; I've already given students detention for falling asleep in class this year. FML
Today, I received a Saturday detention because the assignment I'd handed in had different handwriting. I've been practicing my handwriting skills for the past month. FML
Today, one of my classmates asked the teacher to postpone her presentation because she had to study and the teacher happily agreed. When I approached her, the teacher started yelling at me because postponing deadlines is irresponsible. I just wanted to make sure we didn't need to bring our book. FML
Today, after a conference with my teacher who had previously accused me of not doing my homework, she finally discovered she'd been losing it all this time. I've been getting straight Fs for a month. FML
Today, I explained to my teacher that I wasn't at school yesterday due to three doctor appointments for my moderate epilepsy. Yesterday was senior skip day. She gave me detention for lying. FML

could be worse, when I was in high school I turned in my final 10 page "thesis paper" on the symbolism in the Iliad and Odyssey and how the symbolism reflected Greek Mythology and could be applied to the modern age...two days later...last day of school the teacher asked me to stay after class....she claimed I never turned it in (she'd lost it) but it was OK cause I had the paper on 3in Floppy disk (flash drives were pretty new then and floppy disk were just on their way out) anyways I ran and printed her a 2nd copy of it and turned it in.......two weeks later I got my final report card....had an F in English for "failing to turn in my final paper"......had to retake the English class the following year.....I was mighty pissed

if the school has a policy on so many late papers equals a detention it can. The detention is so that students who repeated don't turn in work will work on it in the presence of a teacher and hopefully turn in late work at the end.

Teachers always lose stuff and blame it on you. It's good to keep record (picture) of your assignments so that you can prove that you did them.

Happened to me in the second grade. At the time it was a recess detention but the teacher found my assignment over the weekend and actually apologized to me. Hopefully you can get your teacher to realize her mistake before you actually serve the detention (if you haven't already), but if not you may have a nice apology coming your way.
