Today, I got a second notice from the mailman that my mail would not be delivered because of the pile of ice a plow had pushed in front of my mailbox. After getting the first notice, I'd spent an hour in the cold busting up the ice with a pick to clear a path. He put both notices in my mailbox. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Slippery
Today, it was very windy and snowy and the neighborhood's garbage cans were blowing everywhere. I had already brought mine in and I saw my neighbor's being blown away. Thinking I'd be nice, I went out to pick it up. Just before I could however, the wind smashed it into me and I fell on the ice. FML
Today, I broke, shoveled, and salted the ice covering my entire driveway. The size is roughly 8 cars' worth, and took me two hours of back-breaking effot to clear. I completely forgot that it was supposed to rain later today. FML
Today, I spent over an hour shovelling the walkway and driveway, snow blowing in my face and down my coat. When I was finally finished, a guy started going through the neighborhood plowing everyone's driveways for them. FML
Snow day
Today, driving out of my neighbourhood, I encountered three snow plows heading towards me. I tried to turn around in a stranger's driveway but wasn't fast enough, and they left a wall 4-feet high of ice and snow, blocking me in. I rang the doorbell, borrowed their shovel and dug out their driveway. Its -32 with wind-chill. FML
Today, the company that was supposed to clear our apartment's parking lot never showed up. I almost got frostbite in my fingers trying to shovel someone's car out since my gloves got soaking wet. FML
Today, I got stuck in the snow in the middle of street. As I was just beginning to get myself unstuck, the snow plow came by and buried the front end of my car. FML
Today, as I was walking home, I felt my feet slip out from under me and I face-planted in the slushy, dirty, melting snow. I rolled over, completely soaked, and attempted to get up, thinking no one saw me. A mail-man then passed me without offering to help, and said, "I've seen worse." FML
Today, my elderly neighbor used his snowblower to send all of the fallen leaves in his yard into mine, which I'd raked earlier that morning. FML
No thanks
Today, I came home to find a note on my door. I thought it was from my elderly disabled neighbors thanking me for cleaning off their snow covered car, since about 6 inches came down. It was from them, only it said I owed them for damages to their car. Damages that were already there. FML
Today, I got a notice on my apartment door that I'd received a package when no one was home, and it was left at the backdoor. I don't have a backdoor. FML

leave a note inside your mailbox saying 'while you are putting another notice in my mailbox, could you also slip in my mail too?'

That's lame. Just put the mail in the box, asshole mailman.

Did anyone else read the part where OP said he did clear the path of all ice? If that`s the truth then the postman is just being lazy

A pick? Really? Hot water would have done the job.

Oh totally! Coat the whole sidewalk with a layer of hot water. There is no way that will cool down, then freeze.

If the plow buried the mailbox the first time than the post is likely delivered by the mail carrier driving up to the mailbox, so they aren't risking slipping in the first place. Secondly if the OP spent forever clearing the area after the first notice and then got a second notice IN the mailbox, than the box is clearly accessible to the mail person.

"After getting the first notice, I'd spent an hour in the cold busting up the ice with a pick to clear a path." They did take responsibility apparently and it still resulted in a second notice in the mailbox.

Your mailman hates you then. Leave a note in your mailbox for him telling him that if he can put notices in there, then he better put your damn mail in there before he gets fired. Lulz.

The hedgehog/beaver/groundhog/rodent couldn't see his shadow, so only six more weeks of winter. Get your shovel & suck it up, if you live where it snows, there's a high probability you will have to shovel at some point during the winter. The mailman hates his job as it is, he's not interested in sledding/ice skating to your mailbox every day.

Stick a note to your Mailbox with this: "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds." (apparently, this is not really the creed of the USPS, as United_States_Postal_Service_creed at Wikipedia says, but chances are the mailman doesn't know this.)

Anyone who delivers mail is ignorant. Ours doesn't arrive until 6 at the earliest. That job is for kids who can't make it through middle school. Peace out(:

Proof if proof were needed that the whole 'Neither rain nor snow nor sleet..." creed is total bull.
