Today, the company that was supposed to clear our apartment's parking lot never showed up. I almost got frostbite in my fingers trying to shovel someone's car out since my gloves got soaking wet. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I spent nearly half an hour clearing several inches of snow off my car. After almost suffering from hypothermia, I finished. Except the car keys were missing from my pocket, presumably buried under a foot of snow. FML
Today, I spent over an hour shovelling the walkway and driveway, snow blowing in my face and down my coat. When I was finally finished, a guy started going through the neighborhood plowing everyone's driveways for them. FML
Today, I broke, shoveled, and salted the ice covering my entire driveway. The size is roughly 8 cars' worth, and took me two hours of back-breaking effot to clear. I completely forgot that it was supposed to rain later today. FML
Today, I got stuck in the snow in the middle of street. As I was just beginning to get myself unstuck, the snow plow came by and buried the front end of my car. FML
Today, several of my apartment complex neighbors walked right by me as I struggled to clean the inches thick, icy snow off of my SUV. I’m 4’11. Not one person offered to assist me, even after I slipped and fell several times. FML
Today, a stranger was kind enough to plow my driveway during a blizzard. However, they were not kind enough to leave their number after plowing the front end of my car. FML
Today, I spent an hour in a snowstorm waiting for my bus to show up. After I got fed up, I decided to just clean off my car and drive to work. After I was halfway finished swiping off the snow and ice stuck to my car, the bus drove right past me. FML
Today, my car got stuck in a foot of snow. I tried desperately digging around my wheels to see if it would help. I was finally able to get out 10 minutes later only to realize that I had dropped my phone in the snow while I was digging and had run over it. FML
Today, I found out that we're supposed to get 3 feet of snow, and the person who plows our driveway is out of town. We're stranded on a huge hill. FML
Snow day confusion
Today, I went to shovel the massive amount of snow that was on our car. After spending time in the cold wind, I finally finished, realizing it wasn't my car. It was an identical car. FML

You shouldn’t take on tasks for which you lack the necessary equipment! Your heart is in the right place, but your fingers might not always be.

If you live in an area where it snows heavily, you should probably have a pair of snow/ waterproof gloves...

What were you shovelling with? Your hands?

Why are you shoveling out 'someone's' car? If it's not yours, let them do it themselves.

Oh shit, OP should apologize for an act of samaritanism. You are 100% right, doesn't matter if they helped an old or disabled person, they can handle it in what sounds like a negative temperature. Not, why do you think you are getting downvoted. You hazarded a guess without muxh context.

No, I read OP complaining about doing something without the right equipment and getting hurt by it. If the other person was disabled or something like that, I believe they would have indicated that more than just say 'someone'. I'm not saying don't do good deeds but if you don't have the right equipment and are going to complain about it afterwards, that kinda diminishes it.

I'm confused as to why you're shoveling out someone else's car. ydi
