Haha. Ouch, irony sucks. The good news - in the divorce, you'll have the upper hand (unless you were abusive, neglectful, etc.). The better news - reporting this incident to the licensed board will see an investigation and, more likely than not, license revocation - he won't be practicing ever again - and a permanent black mark on his record. How's that for coming out on top?

If irony were made of strawberries, you'd be drinking a lot of smoothies.

You absolutely can get his license suspended at least. As long as you have some proof anyway. "In 1993 the American Psychiatric Association Board of Trustees ap- proved a revision of that annotation. In all iterations of The Principles of Medical Ethics With Annotations Especially Applicable to Psychiatry, published since then, the statement is now absolutely unequivocal and reads, “Sexual activity with a current or former patient is unethical” (American Psychiatric Association 2001, Section 2, Annotation 1). " That quote is from the Ethics Primer of the American Psychiatric Association. I know that it may be a lot of trouble to go through in such a sensitive time but doing everything you can to make sure this never happens to anyone else may really help in your healing process.

Sue him for unethical practices, divorce the bitch for cheating on you, and go and find a nice woman that makes you happy. I know, easier said than done, but still...... I'm really sorry that happened to you :(
