Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I found out my mom can't wait until I turn 18, so she can kick me out and turn my room into a huge closet for all her clothes. FML
Get out
Today, I found out that my mother changed all the locks of the house and threw away all of my girlfriend's stuff. I don't know what the fuck happened there. I actually bought the house two years ago because I had enought of her being nosey and controlling with both of us. FML
Today, I found out my stalker is my mom's new boyfriend. FML
Piggy banked
Today, I discovered my own mother has been stealing money from me for months when I opened my savings box to find it empty. FML
Today, it's garbage day. My mom accidentally threw away a receipt she needed to return something and told me to go get it. While I was looking for it, a cop gave me hell for "stealing recyclables on private property." This all happened in my front lawn. FML
WTF mom?
Today, I came home at 1 am to find my mom sitting on my couch, ranting about how I'm not supposed to stay up this late. I'm 26 and I don't know how she got into my house. FML
Helicopter
Today, my mother scolded me for having a lighter in my room. My reason I had it? The candle that she bought me for my 25th birthday. I don't even live with her anymore, she showed up uninvited, and started going through my stuff. FML
Gambled and lost
Today, I found out that my mom found a paper with my long lost username and password to an old crypto wallet with 17 bitcoins. She'd thrown it in the garbage bin before realising what it was. The bin was empty when I went running to check it. FML
Today, my mom's obsession with cleanliness hit a new low when she bitched at me for having trash in my trash can. FML
Today, I found out that my mom uses my Facebook account more than I do. FML

Put some filthy erotic poetry in the trash with graphic imagery of nasty sex scenes. Just as she is getting orgasmic over it, end it by addressing it to your dad. That ought to fix it.

That's weird and disturbing at the same time.

By 25, do you mean 6 and by living by yourself, do you mean you live with your mom?

Time to move cross country where mom has to take 4 planes and a taxi to get to your trash!

(Catheec: This isn't directed at you, your comment just made an excellent spring-board.) Unfortunately it's my experience that, when dealing with a determined stalker (Yes, parents can be stalkers too.), even distance won't always solve the problem. My own overly-paranoid and obsessively co-dependent mother once showed up at my apartment and broke in through the back door because she hadn't heard from me in *gasp* almost thirty-six hours. Two years before this I had moved over two hundred miles away thinking that I'd be safe from her well-intentioned, but extremely crippling, interference since she doesn't drive. Needless to say, my roommate at the time was even less pleased to see her than I was. Sadly, this is the type of person who has "kept my bedroom just the way I left it" and reminds me at the end of every phone call that "it is waiting for me when I'm ready to finally come home". I moved out fifteen years ago, own my own home half-way across the state, and have been happily married for six years. "Anonymous" poster, I feel your pain. My mother/stalker only backed off after my spouse threatened to press charges. If this is normal behavior for her then it might be time to look into getting some help.
