Today, I found out I've miserably failed a college exam. My friend had agreed to pass me answers if I needed them, since I've hardly studied this year. We were on the phone when she said, "Oh, those answers were bullshit. Serves you right, huh?" FML

Today, I got my results on a recent, important midterm. During the exam, I'd noticed my instructor had accidentally left an answers page in the test packet, so being honest, I didn't look at them. It turns out she did it on purpose to help us pass. I failed. FML
Today, I made a multiple choice exam so my friend could practice and get a good grade on his real exam. While I was helping him finish it, the teacher saw it, thought we were cheating and failed us both. FML
Today, I walked into an exam after having stayed up 20 straight hours studying. The professor looked at me and muttered, "Don't bother, I'm failing you either way." FML
Today, my English teacher told me that I failed my grammar test. Her exact words were "You ain't gonna pass this class if you ain't gonna study." FML
Today, after I took my first set of exams, my professor posted on Twitter, scoffing at how stupid one student's answer was. The answer he quoted was one that I wrote. FML
Today, I re-sat an expensive exam I'd flunked 6 months previously. The same impossible multiple choice questions appeared, which I'd been unable to find the answers to, even with all my textbooks and the internet. FML
Today, after missing college for a week due to illness, I found out my "friends" were bullshitting me about us having to write an important no-extension Biology essay. Copious amounts of my sweat, snot and tears went into that desperation-fueled nightmare. Thanks, dickheads. FML
Today, my college instructor told me I hadn't actually failed a big exam as he originally said. It turns out he'd mixed me up with another student. Now thanks to the power of gossip, half my class thinks I slept with him so he'd switch my grade with the other student's. FML
Today, I finally got off my lazy ass and start studying for my upcoming exam. It was going pretty well, until my classmate called and after I proudly told him about my sudden motivation, the only thing he had to say was, "You got the date wrong, the exam was on thursday." FML
Today, I went in to take my College Placement tests. I'd spent all week ignoring actual homework to study for these tests. When I got there, the responsible told me that the tests were last week. FML

It's really difficult to respond to this. Yes, absolutely you are one piece of screwed up protoplasam for not studying. (Bet you don't graduate but STILL have HUGE school loan debts with nothing to show for it as you lack the responsibility to buckle down and graduate.) So be prepared to whine to anyone who will listen about how the world has mistreated you. And you really do have a very low standard for what you call a friend. Think I would have just told you straight up that I was not about to help someone who plopped down and never cracked a book all semester. Not my job. And if the subjects are to hard for you to have you ever considered that maybe you're not college material and need to find a trade? Only good thing is one less birthday card to buy this year?

Stop pretending like college is solely one giant party and just study. It's not difficult. Did your friend go about that the right way? Probably not...unless you've been pulling this shit all semester. Put on your big girl panties.

Doesn't need to. Cheating and not doing any of the requirements worked until now. OP is the kind of person that will follow the intent of the course only when all other efforts to slip by without doing the work have failed.

YDI for thinking you can get a free ride while everyone else does the work. Also, its just as bad for you to ask a friend to help you cheat as it is for them to purposely give you the wrong answers, because if you get caught you both face academic penalties for cheating.

I don't ever say this, but you SERIOUSLY DESERVE IT!! I'm a hard working college student with a full time job and I study and work my ass off on all of my papers and exams. You should've studied its as simple as that. There was no reason for you to be lazy and use your friend to pass you the answers, she probably wanted to see how far low you would go in being lazy and not preparing for your exams. Hopefully you get your shit together and not make the same mistake in the future.
