Today, I made a multiple choice exam so my friend could practice and get a good grade on his real exam. While I was helping him finish it, the teacher saw it, thought we were cheating and failed us both. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I got my results on a recent, important midterm. During the exam, I'd noticed my instructor had accidentally left an answers page in the test packet, so being honest, I didn't look at them. It turns out she did it on purpose to help us pass. I failed. FML
Today, during an exam, the guy next to me tried to cheat by looking at my test but was caught by the proctor. His defense was that no one would ever cheat off me. The proctor agreed and allowed him to finish the test. FML
You dingdong!
Today, I was copying an assignment from my friend and was feeling confident that I was gonna pass. I later found out I copied his name too, so the teacher failed us both. He won't talk to me now. FML
Today, I found out I've miserably failed a college exam. My friend had agreed to pass me answers if I needed them, since I've hardly studied this year. We were on the phone when she said, "Oh, those answers were bullshit. Serves you right, huh?" FML
The old switcheroo
Today, I got my precalculus final back from my teacher. I got a 17%. I told her that there had to be some mistake, because my classmate had the same answers as me and she got 100%. Not only did I accidentally admit to cheating, but our test papers had different questions. FML
Today, my teacher called a friend and me out of class and told us we had been reported for plagiarism because our answers to a problem were nearly identical, and he said that I shouldn't have shared my work. This for an assignment where significant marks were awarded for collaborating with peers. FML
Unfair failing
Today, while I was taking a test in class, there was a question that had everyone stumped. After what seemed like forever, the teacher finally noticed and said he'd typed the question wrong. I spent more than half the time I had to complete the test on a question that wasn't even written correctly. Yes, I failed. FML
Today, I cheated on my math exam. I still failed. FML
Today, I took my Spanish test, and I felt very confident. I got the test back later, and saw my teacher had written on it: "Congrats on the 94%, but I know you cheated." FML
Lock your doors
Today, while taking a test in my online class, my sister unexpectedly showed up. She panicked when she realized what I was doing, as the class has a strict rule of being 100% alone during tests. I assured her that because she wasn't helping me to cheat, it would be fine. Turns out it wasn't fine, as I got a zero. FML

Was the real test already out or something? How could she assume cheating if she hadnt given out the test? I'm really confused as to how this happened...

You should definitely be able to explain. I hope your teacher realizes you were just being a good friend and not an unfaithful student

If only your teacher knew... but I'm sorry about that.

The teacher should have known though. It's easy to look at the practice test OP made and realize it wasn't the test intended to be used.

this needs a follow-up

It's fairly common for students in school (especially tough schools) to steal copies of the exam ahead of time and memorize the answer sequence so they can get a perfect score.
ScoocyDoong 11
That would've been something obvious, really.

#3 But would they be that stupid to do it in class? that teacher is crazy paranoid...
ThatHorse 15
Yes they would #7. I've literally seen it happen in person before.

Uhm they stole a test to memorize it cause they're too stupid to study.

#16 But the teacher would only have to look at the test for a few seconds to see it isn't the real one.

Sounds like the "I don't want to hear your excuses" teacher

"What do you have to say for yourself Timothy?" "Well, I --" "I don't want to hear your excuses!"

"But---" "NO BUTS! YOU HAVE DETENTION UNTIL WE HAVE OUR TEST!"

Did you have the same questions or answers as the real test? Why did she assume you were cheating? Couldn't you explain? So many questions...I'm hoping for a follow up!

you could have easily proved that you weren't cheating

Think of the teacher as your parent-- they probably didn't want to hear an explanation. The teacher should have been able to realize it, but the teacher may also not want to be wrong-- it's an unfortunate part of the education system.

Teachers not wanting to be wrong is what got me suspended from school one time :(

Why didn't you show her your mini-test and have here compare it to the actual test. It'll show her how it is not the same test with the same exact questions and answers in the same order. And if she still fails you, go to the principal and confront the issue there.
Brandi_Faith 34
My thoughts too. If she won't listen than go to the principle. Chances are he'll listen to your argument.
Alexandria79 22
surely when she saw your made up test she'd realise that you weren't cheating?
ScoocyDoong 11
Guess not. The teacher should have known that it was a fake.
oiler 21
Tell the teacher and explain. They should let you go, People sell tests so s/he might think that
writerchic85 26
I think if you show it to her and try to explain yourself she might realize what's actually happening. If not then go to the principal.
