Today, I finally got off my lazy ass and start studying for my upcoming exam. It was going pretty well, until my classmate called and after I proudly told him about my sudden motivation, the only thing he had to say was, "You got the date wrong, the exam was on thursday." FML

Today, I got up and walked to college for my only class which started at 9 a.m. after a night of restless sleep. Our exam is two weeks away, so I thought it would be better to attend. Apparently, my teacher thought differently. FML
Today, I went in to take my College Placement tests. I'd spent all week ignoring actual homework to study for these tests. When I got there, the responsible told me that the tests were last week. FML
Today, I found out that I have been studying for the wrong final exam. One more hour until the test. FML
Today, I found out I've miserably failed a college exam. My friend had agreed to pass me answers if I needed them, since I've hardly studied this year. We were on the phone when she said, "Oh, those answers were bullshit. Serves you right, huh?" FML
Today, I walked into an exam after having stayed up 20 straight hours studying. The professor looked at me and muttered, "Don't bother, I'm failing you either way." FML
Today, I was reviewing for a major nursing school exam I have this week. I panicked because none of the material seemed familiar, and figured that I must've missed something during class and now had to catch up. After 4 hours, I finally realized that I'd been studying from the wrong textbook. FML
Today, I took an exam, for which I have been studying for weeks, I was confident at first, but then really struggled with it. I finished with about ten minutes to spare, turned to what I thought would be the end of my paper and found the first page of questions I was supposed to have answered. FML
Today, I've been making extremely good progress in my online class. Or at least… I was, until the deadline to complete it was suddenly pushed a whole month forward, causing me to be "behind." Then my teacher had the nerve to email me, telling me I needed to catch up. FML
Today, I was telling off one of my friends, a fellow student of medicine, who was spending his evenings watching "House" instead of revising for our important exam, as I was. The topic mentioned in the episode came up in the exam. He got 4 points more than I did. FML
Today, I had a very hard and long exam and I was completely prepared for it. I was so confident in my abilities and I'd studied really hard. When I entered the exam hall and took the paper, I realized that I had forgotten to bring my calculator. FML

some classes have only 4 exams so missing even one can be fatal to your grade, plus it sucks that OP put so much effort into studying just to hear it already passed

I have a class with just 3 exams, and have been in classes before with only two. Missing one is definitely going to make you fail that whole class.

I think you need to reread the FML, it says that OP already started studying and mid-way OP talks to a classmate, and the classmate informs OP that the exam already passed

Not defending OP or anything but not everyone pays for an education, especially in some European countries. OP is however wasting time, which is worse than wasting money IMO.
