Today, I found one of my mom's old diaries that dated back to my infant days. I couldn't help but read a little. I'm now in great concern over how many times my mom wrote that she wanted to dunk me in the toilet or throw me against a wall. FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I found my long lost diary and curiously read it. What's worse than finding out that your mother read your diary? Finding out that your mother wrote comments in it. FML
Today, my mom read my diary. Then she frantically booked me an appointment with a psychiatrist. FML
Today, I found my diary on my mother's nightstand. Bookmarked. FML
Today, feeling very distant from my daughter recently, I decided to sneak a peek in her diary to see what was on her mind. The book was apparently one of those that play the sound of a woman screaming when opened improperly, and alerted everyone in the house to my actions. FML
No Ragrets
Today, I rummaged around in the attic, looking for old pictures of me and my family, so I could make a surprise collage. Instead, I found my dad's old journals, talking about how desperately he didn't want a kid, and how he wanted to leave my mother more and more every day that passed since I was born. FML
Today, my dad found and read my diary. Most of the entries were about how my father didn't respect my privacy. Then he phoned my aunt and read her passages from it. FML
Breaking news
Today, I was helping my mom look for some money she'd misplaced. At my wit's end, I flipped through her diary, in case she'd hidden it between the pages as she has before. Didn't find the money, but I did find out she might well be cheating on my dad. FML
We need to talk…
Today, I took a look at my 9-year-old daughter's diary, thinking it would be full of cute stuff. Instead, it was full of hateful rants against me and my husband, as well the boys at her school, who she called gay because none of them ever hit on her. It seems I've failed as a parent. FML
Leave no paper trace
Today, my therapist asked me if I’d been journaling as he suggested. I had to tell him that I don’t trust writing down my innermost thoughts anymore, because when I was younger my mom read by diary multiple times and beat me for what I wrote. So did my ex-boyfriend. FML
Stiched up
Today, I found a notebook my 12-year-old sister had been doodling in. Turns out the "doodles" were poems full of obscenities and descriptions of how she wanted to hurt herself. When I showed it to my mom, she accused me of writing the notebook myself to frame my sister. FML

That's true motherly love

I'm sure you'll understand one day, not that every mother wants to use violence, but how stressful having a child can be. Maybe your mother went through post natal depression but wasn't diagnosed, it happens. Just let it slide, I'm sure she's happy now. She might not want to remember the feelings she had. :)

Jonisapanda: Maybe you pay for the things the baby needs but it's kind of impossible to have a job at 14. So I suppose your parents are paying.

It's normal to think that way. I have no kids myself, but I know how it can be to get so worn out and stressed that you want to harm people you love. It's happened to me with my sibling and even my own mum. I've caught myself wishing the latter would get in a car accident on the way to work, or imagining strangling my sister, all because I was exhausted and stressed from a busy, frustrating, and totally draining life. It doesn't mean anything. I didn't mean any of it, and in fact felt bad about thinking that way later. I'm sure your mom felt bad too once she calmed down. Trust me, if she'd really meant those things, she'd have acted on them. Instead she wrote them down, which probably helped her get some of that frustration out. If she ever goes back and reads those entries again, I'd bet she feels awful for thinking that way about her own baby. Don't worry too much about it.

Ydi for being a horrible baby, apparently. And for reading someone's diary, especially when you're one of the main characters.

...You are a moron. "being a horrible baby?" Like you weren't noisy, fussy, and hard to deal with when you were an infant. Everyone is at that age. It's called stress, you dumb tart. People say and think things they don't mean when they're stressed and tired. I hope you never have children. They'd be in extreme danger with a parent like you who might actually do things like that to them, because they're "being a horrible baby." Idiot...

127, That's normal among babies. Hell, I did the same thing when I was born and growing up. What the hell is a baby supposed to do? Sleep? Talk like the E-Trade Baby? Crying and screaming are the only ways an infant can communicate until they turn 18 months old. It's to let the parents know that they're still alive. Go to the Library and read about Infants since you seem to think that babies are awful little creatures. >>;

When you snoop, you find out things you didn't want or need to know! I've raised 4 kids & every Mother has felt that way at some point, it doesn't mean we do it or even want to do it! It's very hard having an infant! She probably wrote it down to relieve frustration! If she hadn't written it down, she might have done something she'd regret! Don't put too much meaning into it! Next time, don't snoop! You were going through her things to find it! MYOB!!

This is why I'm pretty sure I'm not having kids. I have no patience. I'm sure she didnt mean it. People have crazy thoughts when frustrated

She didn't do it though. She's allowed to feel that way, and her diary wad her private way of venting that frustration. People are allowed to have those feelings. You were wrong to read her diary in the first place.

Last page: I guess it's true that you can't love your adopted children as much as your real ones, and they are more resilient to falls.

Just be glad she only wrote it...
