Today, while BMXing I felt my chain break loose. I only looked down for a split second, and that's all it took for me to crash into a young scooter kid, breaking not only my own nose and elbow, but both his arms. FML

Today, whilst riding my brand new dirt bike for the first time, the chain broke and slashed me down the back of the left leg with such force that it chipped the bone. FML
Today, I was riding down a hill on my bike, doing a wheelie, when I lost control and started heading towards a woman on the sidewalk. Don't worry, I didn't hit her, the man beside her lunged and shoved my bike so hard that I hit concrete and broke three teeth. He then screamed, "Watch it, punk!" and walked off. FML
Today, my friend and I were racing on our bicycles when my chain snapped. I went over the handlebars and slid, on my back, for about ten feet. FML
Today, my 12 year-old son came home with two broken arms after finding an awesome place to ride his bike. He found a sweet jump and his handlebars broke. He's currently in slings and waiting for an appointment with a surgeon, the breaks were so bad, the hospital couldn't reset them. FML
Today, I was riding my bike down a road I know is quite hazardous. Having almost been hit in the same spot the day before, I rode across the intersection very satisfied without having been injured. Until I crashed into the guy front of me and flipped over my handlebars. FML
Today, I went dirtbiking. While I was going down a hill, I spun out of control and flipped over my handle bars. I now have a sprained arm, multiple bruises and a crescent-shaped gash on my neck that looks like I was bitten. People are asking if my boyfriend and I were being frisky last night. FML
Today, I was riding on a stationary exercise bike at home, when I went to get off, my shorts got stuck under the seat. I dangled half upside down until my shorts ripped and I fell on the ground face first breaking my front tooth. I broke my tooth riding a bike that doesn’t even move. FML
Today, I blacked out while riding my electric scooter. Luckily, I was quickly jolted awake when my chin hit the tarmac. FML
Today, while hurrying by bike to an appointment, my chain broke. I quickly got off the road and managed to fix it on the sidewalk, covering my hands in black smear. Dirty but confident about my repair skills, I got up. A second later, felt something warm running down my neck. Bird poop. FML
Today, I got on the train with my bike, leaning it up against the wall. After a while, it began to slide down the wall and wobble, so I dashed out to catch it. As I ran for it, I slipped and crashed into it, knocking it into an old man and busting the rear brake. FML

scooter kids have caused quite a few headaches in my town, just scootering all over the place not looking anywhere popping out of drive ways and such. Yet old enough to know the difference. I've had to slam the breaks just to have a kid who flew into the road give me a dirty look. Could have killed the little shit.

I don't feel sorry for you, I feel sorry for the kid you hit because you weren't paying attention to where you were going. If I was a parent of the kid I'd be suing you / your parents.

If some kid on a scooter goes into the road/pathment without looking and comes out straight in front of you, you have no chance. The fact he looked down momentarily probably isn't to blame. If he had seen the kid best chance was he served and ended up missing the kid but hurting himself. If he just keeps the fact he looked down quiet he could probably sue the kid's parent.

At no point in the fml did OP say he wasn't paying attention, he felt his chain breaking and had a quick glance at it, probably because it surprised him. You know kind of a "was that what i think it is?" Or "what was that?" Reflex. No to mention the scooter kid probably wasn't paying much attention either, otherwise he'd gotten out of the way. BMX's are not exactly silent nor invisible. Accidents happen.

You're obviously one of those dumbasses who would take their kids to the skatepark on their scooters and not pay any attention to them or what they're doing expecting everyone to watch out for your kids when really your kids are getting in the way of everyone else who regularly uses the park for sport and fun and not just to irritate other park goers. The kid should've been more aware of his surroundings and not gotten in the way of a bike anyone who actually skates or bikes at a park knows there's an unspoken rule of waiting your turn in line to do a line through the park or bowl and the scooter kids are always the ones ******* it up.
