Today, I finished working a week's overtime managing admin, stock, finances, and three members of staff. I realised that despite all my extra work, I actually earn less per hour than the students who only work on the weekends. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Management 101
Today, I once again got less than 20 hours of work for the entire week. My boss's solution? Double the staff. FML
Today, my boss asked me to work over the entire weekend. That would be fine if I didn't already work a 60 hour week. He also said the extra hours on the weekend wouldn't be paid. FML
Bad at maths
Today, my boss finally worked out that by not giving the lads a pay rise to £18 an hour, instead just offering them overtime when necessary, it actually cost the equivalent of raising each employees salary to £26 an hour, for a whole year. He’s is blaming me because I issue the pay checks. FML
Boss makes a pound…
Today, I sat down and worked out I get paid £26000 a year for working 40 hours a week. Meanwhile my boss gets paid £115000 to answer emails when he remembers to and to attend 5 hours of mandatory meetings a month, which he now does over video chat from his vacation cottage in Scotland. FML
Today, I found out that, because I'm a student, the employees I train make more than me. FML
The value of labor
Today, after working for over a decade at the same place, I was formally written up with two days of leave without pay for refusing to work extra overtime. I've been working over 80 hours a week for four months now and even cancelled some very important plans so I could work every day. FML
TFI Friday
Today, I started a new job. The hours are long, but I didn't mind as I could REALLY use the overtime. Turns out, they don't pay over time. I'm just expected to go "above and beyond for the company." FML
Today, my boss asked me to pick up more waitressing shifts because we are short-staffed. I already work seven days a week. FML
You do it
Today, I’m a supervisor who swore 50-hour weeks were “the minimum.” My team preferred having lives, I missed my quota, and my $10,000 bonus vanished. FML
Exploitation
Today, despite having made it clear that I'm neither interested, nor I am able to take over the jobs of the 3 members of staff who have recently left, my boss made a "Progress Plan" for me and will check on it weekly. I'm getting paid 1.5 times less than average in my role and he's not giving me a raise because the company is stingy. FML

You should speak to someone about your payment reflecting how much you work. If that doesn't work, start actively looking for a job that'll properly compensate you.

Have YOU realised that she's using the British way of spelling? Since she's, you know, in LONDON! If you were smarter I think you'd have kept your mouth shut.

erm, that's actually not that odd. And what do you mean "despite" all the extra hours? If you are on a standard wage, then the extra hours will actually cause you to earn less per hour (because your pay is being 'split' over more hours), unless you get paid overtime. Anyway like i said, not uncommon for casuals to earn more per hour than permanent part-time/full-time or contract workers. They don't get sick leave, annual leave, etc etc so to 'make up' for it they get paid more per hour. You might end up with less per hour but you probably also get paid sick leave, paid annual leave etc. It's actually pretty normal, unless you are doing an much higher-skilled job than the students are.

Exactly. They aren't getting sick days or vacation or any kind of benefits package. OP could be getting health insurance and a retirement package for all we know.

@27. If you are going to complain about the way the English spell things then you are very welcome to stop butchering our language.
