Today, I finally paid off the massive debt on my credit card. I came home only to find that almost everything I owned had been repossessed an hour before I paid the debt. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Cough up
Today, I learned I have over $10,000 in debt, despite never owning a credit card. Apparently, my ex-roommate had been replying to the credit card offers I was receiving in the mail. That also explains my missing driver's license a few months back. FML
Today, I went to the store to buy some groceries. Several hours later I realize that I can't find my wallet. After looking all over my house and then the store parking lot, I had my credit cards cancelled. On the drive home, I feel something under me. It was my wallet. FML
Today, I found out that my Mom had taken out a loan out on my car from the repo man taking my car away. FML
Today, I found out that my parents are 28,000 dollars in debt and that my bank account has $27.17 in it. They took my money to help pay their debt. FML
Today, I came home to found all of my belongings out on the street. My roommate, who is also my brother, apparantly neglected to pay his part of the rent, and we got evicted. FML
Today, getting home from a long day at work, I checked the mail and saw three envelopes from the IRS. Apparently I now owe over $4,000. I only have $2 in my bank account. FML
Repo Man
Today, I rented a car via an app for a family function. Turns out it was in default and was repossessed while I was there. I had to ride three hours back home with my girlfriend's dad, who probably thinks I don't pay my bills. FML
Trust
Today, I had to dump my girlfriend because of tons of trust issues that kept reappearing. Shortly afterwards, my credit card disappeared and I got to experience my first identity theft. All within 24 hours. FML
Today, while paying for groceries, I opened my wallet to find that all my cash had been exchanged for Monopoly money. FML
Boozehound
Today, I found out my credit card was maxed out to the penny, all thanks to purchases made on an online wine store. Apparently my mother was thirsty enough to steal from her own son. FML

I think this post is fake. If you legit paid it all they would have told you that some of your things were repoed. If you did really pay off the debt go to the credit companies and demand your stuff back since you paid your debt.

Credit cards are unsecured debt. The only thing that can be taken is the contents of a bank account, and only when decided in court. I call BS.

This is exactly what I came in here to say. They can repo your house, or your car, but only because the bank OWNS those things so if you don't pay they take it back from you. The most that a credit card company can do is pester you for your money if you don't pay, and then eventually write off the debt and sell it to a collection agency. Then the collection agency will wait some years and MAYBE sue you for that money, at which point the court will make a ruling and then they can garnish your wages. THEY WILL NOT COME INTO YOUR HOUSE AND TAKE YOUR BELONGINGS! How would they know which things were bought on the card anyways? IF this FML is real, then the OP is stupid because her house was burglarized, and she just assumed the credit card company took her stuff.

In Australia the the credit card companies go through the bank. So they can take it back.

Fake. Credit card debt doesn't get reposessed.

I don't normally do this, but I'm calling bullshit on this. I worked in Bank of America's credit card division for years. Credit card companies don't repo things. Credit cards are unsecured. Every secured card I've ever seen has been secured with deposits, not personal belongings. This is a fake FML.

I think the OP meant the stuff they purchased on the card got repossessed at least that is how I read it.

Things you purchase with a credit card also can not be repo'd. An unsecured loan is just that, unsecured.

I once had a girlfriend who financed her boob job. We had a great time with the fun bags until I realized she had fallen behind on the payments. That was one ugly repo. "Let's eat sushi, and not pay."

I can only imagine.... *shudder*. I have a really disturbing mental image of a person coming and sucking silicon out of someone's boobs while yelling "That's what you get for not paying, ******!" right now. ._.

All I'm picturing is that scene from nip/ tuck where she hacks her own boob off.

They don't repo your stuff cuz of your credit cards. They only repo things that you owe payments on (cars, rental stuff, etc.). So unless you owed money on all those things, this is a fake. YDI, for being fake.

Maybe in Australia they do it different... If so, then USA should adopt these practices
patticake1601 0
no, same rules as USA. Credit card debt is unsecured and the banks dont repo what you purchase on your credit card.
