Today, I drove for three hours to surprise a girl after surgery. My truck broke down outside her place, and it turns out she's over an hour away at her family's place. FML
Today, my girlfriend came over to my place unannounced. She slapped me in the face, said, "You son of a bitch." and stormed off. I have no idea what that was for. FML
Today, I drove three and a half hours to surprise my long distance boyfriend for our anniversary. He was out of town. Where was he? Three and a half hours away trying to surprise me. FML
Today, I drove 120 miles to spend a few days with my girlfriend. Less than 12 hours into my stay, she dumped me. FML
Today, I'm a youth worker. I drove 7 hours to visit a teenage girl I have been working with, and who recently moved. Due to roadworks, it took me 2 hours longer than expected. When I arrived, she told me to fuck off and closed the door in my face. FML
Today, I wanted to surprise my long distance girlfriend by flying to her unannounced. When I arrived at her house, her family tells me that she herself boarded an unannounced flight to where I lived hours ago. Surprise. FML
Today, my girlfriend of 3 years broke up with me by taping a breakup note to my doorstep and ding-dong-ditching me. FML
Today, I drove 45 min from my college to surprise my girlfriend with roses after she got off work. She responded by taking the roses, dumping them in her back seat, and speeding off because she couldn't miss Survivor. FML
Today, I got off work early to go home and surprise my girlfriend with lunch, only to come home to her in the middle of packing up all of her stuff. FML
Today, I got into a huge fight with my boyfriend after driving 200 miles to see him. While arguing, I told him I never wanted to see him again and left after slamming the front door. I left my car keys in his kitchen. FML

Maybe someone's been telling her bad stuff about you? The only way this seems warranted is if you cheated or something. So maybe someone told her you had been cheating on her? But either way, there should've been signs leading up to this. Have you been talking often in the last 3 weeks? You think she would've given you a hint of how she felt? Of course there's still the possibility that she's crazy and mean and just decided to ended it and thought that was the best way.

I just realized it sounds like I was saying that op missed obvious signs from the girlfriend, and in some way that it's his fault. That's not what I meant. First, I find it weird that she didn't give him any warning signs (which she obviously didn't). This makes me wonder if they were talking a lot during those 3 weeks or not. And second, I was wondering if someone maybe told her you'd been cheating on her or something?
