Today, I drove over 3 hours to hook up with a guy I've been talking to for a couple of months. When we start having sex, he lasted less than a minute, and then couldn't get it up again afterwards. I slept uncomfortably the entire night on his twin bed while he snored. FML
Today, my boyfriend of 2 months and I had sex for the first time last night. This afternoon he texted me saying, "I had an amazing night with you yesterday." Following that text he said, "I forgot to tell you I have an STD." FML

Today, my boyfriend broke up with me after I drove two hours to his house, because he wanted to do it face to face. Then told me that if I wanted, we could have sex one last time, but I would have to leave right after, otherwise it would be weird. FML

Today, my boyfriend lied about having herpes, and used it as an excuse to dump me. FML
Today, the person I was seeing asked to be just friends. A few hours later, they tried to talk me into having sex. FML
Today, I woke from last night after meeting the most amazing man, and after giving him a good morning kiss, roll out of bed to use his bathroom. After using his toothbrush, I go to replace it in his holder only to find not one, but several prescriptions for herpes in his unzipped toiletry bag. FML
Today, I hooked up with a guy. He didn't last 30 seconds before finishing, Then his car wouldn't start. I ended up walking home after a hook up that wasn't worth it. FML
Today, I drove 4 hours to see my girlfriend of a year, as she had asked me to stay with her for a few days. When I arrived she told me she wanted to be friends as she liked someone else, but wanted me to stay the few days so we could work on being friends. FML

The dude is a scumbag. First that he had you drive two hours for a booty call, second that he waited until afterwards to tell you he just wanted to be friends, and third that he didn't tell you that he has an STI until after you had sex. That said, this is a reminder that you always use a condom when having sex, especially with someone new.

Condoms don’t protect against all STDs, including herpes.

OP, I'm sorry to hear that this happened to you . the same thing happened to me in a previous relationship . I was in that relationship for a year wjth my partner before they told me . I hadn't had any symptoms of it for that year , got tested and it was confirmed I had it . Now and then I do get the.. symptoms . . And it really sucks . that guy is a douche and I'm so sorry that he did this . I hope you didn't contract the std from him . if it's any consolation, I am in a happy relationship where my spouse doesn't have it , and we've been together for 5 years . I hope that knowing the possibility of love and such is out there after thus . after all , herpes is just a painful skin condition. It's not life threatening , it's not terminal , and it's not even a constant thing . there are plenty of treatments , but as noted in the comments , it is a forever thing . but it can be rendered or even simply stay dormant . if you need to vent , you can message me:)

Sorry OP, YDI- kinda. STIs are the well-known risk of having sex with people you don't know well. Asking you to travel for 2 hrs at night is a big red flag- people who genuinely want a relationship are upfront about these kinds of things and don't ever booty call. I really, really hope you haven't caught it- best of luck.

Every person who has had a one night stand ever lol. And hellooooooo knowing someone for an extended period of time before sexing them doesn’t guarantee your safety. A comment above says they were with someone an entire year before their partner disclosed the information. Don’t be daft hun. The only way to be sure is to go get tested together.
