Today, I decided to start a new and healthy diet. When I came home from my run this morning, my family decided to show their support by buying takeaway food. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I told my parents that I was going on a diet to lose weight and I wanted their support. They brought home donuts and pizza for dinner. FML
Today, my boyfriend and I started our diet. After a long day of being held accountable for every calorie I ate, I went home to sneak a snack. My boyfriend came over to surprise me, and found me on the couch shoveling left-over Indian food into my mouth. FML
Today, I told my mom I was finally going on a diet. She let me know how proud she is of me fighting temptation, by making my favorite cookies and dinner. FML
Willpower
Today, I started my new health kick with granola for breakfast, salad for lunch, and hitting the gym after work. I was so proud of myself, until I couldn’t take it anymore and binged at McDonald’s. My health kick lasted 11 hours. FML
Cravings
Today, I’m trying to be healthy. My friends suggested I keep junk food out of the house so I don’t crave it. Yeah, that didn’t work. My car wouldn’t start so I actually made the four-mile walk to the nearest grocery store to get junk food. FML
Today, I decided to eat healthier. I started with making 2 eggs and burning down whole kitchen. FML
Today, I decided to go on a diet to lose some weight before summer. This was followed by the arrival of a giant parcel full of candy from my mother. FML
Food ****
Today, I decided to start eating healthier, so I had fruit and yoghurt for breakfast and a chicken salad for lunch. My stomach violently rejected both meals in a fountain of vomit. I later ate a giant McDonald’s meal with no issue, and felt loads better. FML
Hangry people
Today, my parents yelled at me for ordering too much fast food. The only reason I’m doing it is because there isn’t any food in the house. Not only that but I’m also trying to gain weight. FML
Taking advantage
Today, after 3 months of my man claiming he's going to start eating better "next week", he finally went on a diet. What changed? I started eating healthy while trying for a baby. He is "supporting me" by getting me to do extra meal prep for him too. FML

if you can beat this obstacle, you can beat many more. think of it as challenging yourself.

They sound just darling!

OP could fit the food into his daily calorie budget, assuming he's not eating it often.

takeaway food can be healthy (if it's not from McDonalds or similar establishments). if OP's family is that insistent on eating takeaway, they should just agree on buying a healthier option for OP. that's where real support will come into the picture.

You got this OP !! Resistance is key !!

It always happens like that doesn't it, OP? My New Year's Resolution for this past year was to cut out fast food and simultaneously my family went on a McDonalds binge.

Remember, OP. Willpower is key!! Let your family know that you are trying to be healthier, and hopefully they will be supportive. Good luck!! :)

That's great! Nothing like an un-healthy reward for exercise!

they are not forcing you to eat it.

Sarcasm. Learn to figure out when someone's using it.

Of COURSE it's sarcasm. How convenient. Never use sarcasm in FML.

@Ziggy You, my good sir, just used sarcasm.

testing your willpower
FitForFun 11
Even some of the biggest and most fit guys around will admit to having no will power when it comes to food being in the house. It's better to keep only good food in your house so that the temptation takes enough work that you know to stay away from it.
TyT63 12
I'm pretty fit myself but I always eat chips and bad stuff like that...I have little willpower with food
rldostie 19
Just because they're the biggest guys doesn't mean they're the healthiest. If you're choosing a healthier lifestyle, then not eating crap is the #1 way to go. It's not that hard to have willpower. See something bad, don't eat it. Simple as that.

i lost 40 pounds in high school and if anything my family mocked me. it can be done. and trust me, if you can't control it at home you WILL fail on your own
golden_warrior 23
Don't eat it, it's a testament to your will.

Man up and test your willpower

While that does suck, take heart in the knowledge that you can eventually "cure" yourself of this problem. Keep working out and avoiding that kind of food and I promise you that after a month you actually won't want to eat it. Hang in there!
SWC_Penguin 17
And if you still crave it after a month of abstaining, just "treat" yourself to a huge fast food meal. You'll absolutely be over it the next morning!
OverFlash 15
Pretty sure that was the point..

Your family eats take away food in the morning? o.o would hate to see how you could resist a bigger meal like dinner... Good luck! X.x

diets are the number 1 hardest goals in life,it requires the highest discipline

I think all those people in physical therapy learning how to walk again would have to disagree with you on that.. If you can't learn to stop shoving greasy fatty food into your mouth, you have a problem. It shouldn't be that hard to start eating smaller portions or healthier food instead of what you're used to eating. Maybe I'm wrong, but I really don't understand how a diet is too difficult.
brackaman 18
I don't know about that. I'm trying to quit smoking and it's hella difficult.

High fat and high carb foods trigger endorphin release, and can be physically addictive - that's why Mucky D's etc load them up with fat: to get you hooked.

33, dieting is different for everyone. Maybe change is easier for you. It's much harder when you're on a diet but people you live with are not. You have to prepare different meals, avoid temptations, and going out can be hard too. It's not as easy as you say, or we'd all be skinny.

And that is when you replace all the junk food in your fridge with a bunch of healthy and organic food, it's healthy revenge!
